    With the prices of 3090's falling below $1K and 3090ti's falling to around $1200, I'm looking at getting a new PC. I've been using DS v4.14 and never upgraded. Personally, I think 4.12 remains the most stable and functional version of DS that they've had for years.

    All that being said, what do you folks think is the best version of DS to put on a new PC? I've never been able to use a G8.1 figure because I never upgraded beyond 4.14, so perhaps I'm missing a lot more than I figured.

    Suggestions?

    TIA

    I stayed on 4.15 because I have a whole lot of scenes using the old version of ghost lights and didn't see much point in moving. But I don't see any reason why you shouldn't go for 4.20. It renders slower but you do get some new features like volumetric rendering.
    I uses Genesis 8.1 about 50/50 with G8 ATM. The new G8.1 facial expressions and eye/lash improvements are good if you're into realism.

    In recent updates, Dforce has been greatly accelerated. Now I use it almost always.

    Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll bit the bullet and go with 4.20. I can always keep my old PC with 4.14. Even tho I've tried to move to blender for a lot of stuff, I still use DS as well.

    @ulysses
    You can have multiple installations of Daz on the same machine.
    Then you can have the best of the stable releases for whatever you need with them.
    One library/CMS, multiple Daz versions.

    Just be sure to point DIM (or an .exe!) to the right Daz installation if you're using it to install plugins, or copy plugins between versions manually.
