    Hello all,

I came across this asset : DAZ SKU 82036 "MR Paola for Genesis 8.1 Female" and was very surprised to find a 404 error on its URL : https://www.daz3d.com/mr-paola-for-genesis-81-female. Regarding the SKU number, it's a fairly recent addition to the catalog.

Switching to the "old catalog pages" at this URL : http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/82036/start, there is a page with details (not as many as the "true" page).

Heading to the DAZ artist's page here : https://www.daz3d.com/marcius/, he only has one asset selling over at DAZ, when at some point he had more than 160 (I keep track lol ).

My question is : is DAZ discontinuing those assets because of a disagreement with the artists or any compatibility reasons ? Or anything else to your knowledge ?

I also noticed that this same artist has almost identical assets referenced over at Renderhub with the same names and so on.

Any insight from some informed members would be welcomed 🙂

Wishing you all a good day / night

    Math

A lot of asset creators have been leaving Daz and even places like Renderosity for Gumroad or websites they've set up themselves.

Mostly I think this happens because the vendor removes it, but sometimes Daz likes to rename products, or adjust the URL. The item still exists, but not on the expected link. You can always search an SKU to see if that's the case, that never changes.

yes, artists do migrate to other websites with their content, they sometimes start on rendo, move to daz and then endup on renderhub. I think it is ultimately their hope of earning more money. If a website promises higher revenue or more % on the actual sales, they may be interested in leaving a platform and joining another. I was quite surprised to see MR going to the hub to be honest.
