What are ppls thoughts on this ? ,do u think it will be the next BIG thing ? I read Microsoft , FaceBook and others are trying to make this happen and of coarse they are because all it means is more money in their pockets. , but what's your opinions of this whole "Metaverse" thing.
I guess it might be good for artists but maybe not so much for consumers. More likely best for the evil empire. How’s that for being unequivocal? Sometimes I hate change, but it always happens once I get comfortable.

There is the possibility that said bear ingest the phone so that it may be tracked by US defense sats and finally targeted by a killer drone for its misdeeds.... Justice in the end...sort of...
I don't think people should be negative about the Metaverse. Just like the laptop displaced the PC and the smartphone displaced the laptop, the Metaverse will displace the World Wide Web (not the Internet) which a long time ago displaced the early Bulletin Boards. Far from being negative, these huge technology changes can benefit the consumer and consign companies that don't keep up to the "bustbin of history". Who remembers Nokia today? If Facebook/Microsoft et al don't give (us) consumers what they (we) want nobody will remember them in 20 years either.
I'm currently writing a (business) paper on the Metaverse which is the reason I found this wonderful site. I thought it would give me a look at a bunch of products. It did. But it also introduced me to a group of seriously talented people.
The key to the Metaverse is a move away from the old-fashioned screen to a more natural 3D environemnt. As Alex Kipman (Kinect/HoloLens) put it, the past 50 years will be seen in the future as a strange time when people spent much of their lives looking at the world through small two-dimensional screens. We'll all laugh at how backward we used to be.
Everyone on this website should welcome the Metaverse. The reason you're here is because you have (or are developing) skills in building 3D models and environments. In the next few years these will be highly valuable skills needed to fill the millions of new specialised design and development jobs the Metaverse will create.
And no, I seriously doubt Mark Zuckerberg will play any meaningful role.
I think some of us, ( me included ) are confusing NFTs with the metaverse.
I looked up the meaning of metaverse & it didn't actually mention NFTs.

The Metaverse nonsense shows just how late to the party they are. This shite has been going on with MMORPGs galore, Second Life, IMVU and other things like those for YEARS now. They're just now discovering the scene and think they've reinvented the wheel. It's like whenever Apple would do pressers for their products and folks acted like they'd NEVER seen innovation until Apple did it. PUH-LEASE.... The Zuck can go sit down with his Metaverse shite. I'll be over here playing Final Fantasy XIV.
no the problems i see with the Metavers is the problem i see all the time ppl are glued to their phones or some sort of tech, u look around and everyone is staring at them and have a hard time putting them down, turning them off , now u imagine ppl every where having a pair of goggles strapped to their head and not seeing what is actually going on around them , as it is there are a lot of ppl that are already out of touch with reality they live on the web and don't have a clue what is really going on in the world around them and they think because they see it or can do it on the web that that's reality when it's not.
