Hi there, hoping someone can help out. I downloaded Night and Day City for Daz Studio and it is in .exe format. This is something I've never seen before. I ran virus scan and then started to open it, and it came up saying it was installing software, so I backed out. I would really like to use the asset, but I've never seen them packaged as an executable and am not sure if I should install.

Jon is right about the older daz product, but this item is not that old. I have this item and it dose not have an executable installer!

It is not an exe. the link you put. It is a clean content install in DIM format. It may be that you downloaded it from another website, and it contains malware. Even I have uploaded exe's in ZoneGFX, and I am sure that they are free of viruses / malware. If you've downloaded an exe from somewhere else, delete it now, as if your life depended on it! Save your ass! LOL
@pumpher , not all exes are safe. Extract before in a pen drive, and test.
Of course you are correct but once you open it it's probably too late for that. Unknown exe's should be tested on a VM. After looking it seems this content requires a plug-in. Perhaps it was packaged with it.
tested the link from gmgfx. No exe inside. Safe. Delete the fucking exe and install the link. (is a low poly, really bad..)
well according to the Daz site: This product includes:
1 Carrara Files Installer. Not all exes are bad. This product is intended for Carrara anyway.
It's my understanding that it can only be run in DS with a bridge. and as I stated myy require the Sparrowhawke plugin which is also an executable.
Check that, It can't even be run in DS with a bridge ... so either install Carrara or thow the whole F*&##ing thing out
