Like the title says, I'm currently opening a request for the updated version of this asset. If it even exists since it's relatively old. The only versions we have here are for daz 4.5 and below (and of course it says that it's made for another version, if I try to "install" it), so.. to be fair, I also don't expect this request to be fullfilled anytime soon since the price for it is really, really high and unless someone have it already, this will probably stay here for a long time.
But I'm gonna try it anyway! My offer is 1k for it!-----

October 23, 2020 at 10:57 am #1637080You're using one of the two that was shared here? Or you bought it yourself?
October 23, 2020 at 11:41 am #1637085Didn't bought that's for sure i think from here. I have account logged in with daz3d and get updates on the main account whenever they releases and never get any plugins on hold for crack.

I just posted a request for help here (https://zonegfx.com/forums/topic/creating-low-poly-people-for-scenes/) but maybe this thread is more dedicated, so I ask here as well:
When I use the EXE (DS4_Decimator_1.7.2.70_Win64) from here (https://zonegfx.com/decimator-v1-7-2-70/) it says it cannot find “installation path for DAZ Studio”.
What should I do?
*****************
If there is a later version of Decimator, i would like to have it, offering 5.000 points.
October 23, 2020 at 11:56 am #1637089This one: https://zonegfx.com/decimator-v1-7-2-70/
Or this one?: https://zonegfx.com/decimator-1-4-2-118-win-mac-32-64/Also you used the .exe for installing it or did it manually? Because personally so far I only tried manually from the first one (the old from monk doesn't have it, only installation) since there's the .dll file by its own. Because if you tell me you did it through the .exe installer, I can try that!

How to install it manually without EXE?
Is it enough to move the "docs" and "plugin" folders to
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 Public Build
???
(The files sizes are so small....)
October 23, 2020 at 12:14 pm #1637094You just need to copy what's inside the plugin folder to
"C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins" and click yes when it says to give him administrator permissions to paste the .dll file inside the folder! However like I said, the most recent, the IM archive, is for daz 4.5 and upon opening the program and check the scripts, it will give you red and says that was made for another version and it's not compatible.
So unless the .exe installation have some sort of automatic downnloader which keeps the plugin up to date, I don't know where to look other than waiting for some kind soul to share the updated, if there's any :/October 23, 2020 at 12:18 pm #1637095Thanks @brynhildr !
@audioscream How come that you get it to work in 4.12? What's the secret?October 23, 2020 at 1:07 pm #1637104@chonakz well.. apparently it was like I assumed: the .exe installation works instead of the manual one. I ran that, I let it install as it is and in fact now in the scripts it shows like "DAZ decimator" and not like before if you do manually, so "dzdecimator" and it's actually compatible. I used the serial and now is fully activated.
If you have problem with it, maybe you have installed daz (like I assume) on another drive rather than C:? Because personally I just ran that, clicked next until the end and done, no problem at all!

The code is located here (which is default, or...?)
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 Public Build\pluginsbut the library is here (that's custom)
D:\My DAZ 3D Library
I have an empty library folder here
C:\My DAZ 3D Library
Is it something that should be inside that folder in order to be recognized as a proper library?
October 23, 2020 at 1:35 pm #1637108@brynhildr
Do you have a different path than
C:\My DAZ 3D Library
??
October 23, 2020 at 1:48 pm #1637109@chonakz No, aside from the library that doesn't concern the plugin installation overall I think, everything should be fine. My path is like I pasted before, so:
“C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins”
And the library is in the default spot, so:
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library"
I honestly don't know why for you it says that it cannot find the path if the default settings are there .-.

In this thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/35579/how-to-install-decimator
It says the following
If you encounter "can't find path..." error, do the following steps:
1. Run regedit.exe
2. Under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DAZ\Studio4", add an string type(REG_SZ) key: InstallPath-64 (or InstallPath-32)
3. Set key's value to the DAZ installation path (for example: "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4")
4. Close regedit, and install the decimator
5. Launch DAZ Pro, goto Help -> About installed plugins, you can find the DAZ Decimator and it wait for the serial number input
6. Enter the serial number(you only need to supply the Decimator serial number, just ignore the others), restart DAZ pro
7. EnjoyTried it - but nope, doesn't work....
Do you have any idea about what files was added after the installation? Maybe, it would be possible for me to install them manually to the right place(s) if you could upload the files that get extracted via the EXE file....?
October 23, 2020 at 3:07 pm #1637125@legolas18 Yes, please! Would be great!
