I'm really sorry to write this. But I'm really disappointed.
It's now the third time I paid for something without getting anything.
Nobody seems to feel responsible for reports of broken links. No respond, no refund, no explanation. While these points can be bought with real money IMO they represent real money.
So it is more or less a theft taking money without any compensation.Actual case: Etheric Draping with dForce
3 of 8 files can't be extracted because the are damaged. Reported this and meanwhile I'm really wondering what the report function is for!
It would be nice to know if any admin read this! The last thread about the same theme were apparently ignored by admins i think!

i think you need a reality check. you are complaining about quality of delivery on a pirate site.
June 12, 2020 at 9:45 AM #1607693If the point have no value why there is a possibility to buy them with real money?
If the point have no value why they are used?
Does the amount of points make any difference? Then I open a request tread offering 5000 points, get what I asked for and don't send any point! What do you think, how long this would work?
You get the point?
And if someone buys his point with real money the beer isn't free! at best it's cheap!
I know these points are in no relation to the thing I get for it. This is not the point. IMO this point system is a tool to make the users more active. and all in all it works well. But I see no need to help to improve the quality of the site reporting broken files or links when it is completely ignored! Then this funktion is senseless.
Everybody who is downloading the complained files gets 3 of 8 broken files. This makes nearly 7GB of traffic for EVERY user. And this traffic isn't free too.

your point is that if the report system and quality assurance are not improved the whole system will collapse? i suppose we need to fix this asap. are you going to volunteer to check, fix or refund all the reports of broken links and corrupt content? you will have to do this every single day probably and if 2gb content is reported corrupt you will need to download and extract and check. i don't think zonegfx can afford to pay dedicated staff to take care of this even with ads and donations, so we need someone that will volunteer to do this and you seem very passionate about the issue.
June 12, 2020 at 10:39 AM #1607704I have reported quite a bunch of broken links and have always got my points back.
Have you tried to unpack it and then put the files back into an archive? That sometimes solves the failed installation error I get in the DIM.
Just saw that it is a tutorial. I'm always unpack them anyway. Why would I install a vidoe tutorial in Daz with DIM. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
June 12, 2020 at 11:13 AM #1607711One thing first! I don't want to sound rude or something! English is not my native language. So something may sound in a way that it is not meant to be. Sorry for this in forward.
@lightbringer! Checking the files is IMO not the job of this site! It should be done BEFORE by the uploader. Everything else is spamming crap to the internet!
If I would do the work other people don't do I would need 10 lifes. This is not an argument. This sounds like if you want to complain do it by yourself and shut up!
I know what work it is to host such website. But if I'm not able to realize something then I don't offer it! Or at least I would explain why it is not working for some time. This explanation is what I'm missing. Anytime something can go wrong or there is just to much to do.@licoriceLover
I have reported quite a bunch of broken links and have always got my points back.
Until a few weeks ago I had the same experience. But this times seem to be over. And I think in a community it should be possible to ask for the reason.
The file can't be extracted because of an unexpected end of the archive. And I downloaded it twice. So the unnecessary traffic counts up to 14 GB. A repair doesn't work because there are no recovery information saved in the file.
June 12, 2020 at 12:29 PM #1607725You can send a message to @gravititi (Ibendo) the one who posted this item. Personally for me if I've purchased an item and the item had a broken link or corrupted files, I still can find the item from other places.

@Snooker
So you did not complain about the the website and point system and reports and refunds and how nothing is being done? Let me re read what you wrote.. yes well looks like you did complain here is one excerpt:"Reported this and meanwhile I’m really wondering what the report function is for!
It would be nice to know if any admin read this! "
Looks like you taking hits at site admin. Gee. All over some corrupt files.
"This sounds like if you want to complain do it by yourself and shut up!" yes thats exactly what it is.
I get it you wasted some points, got angry and blamed the site, the point system the admin etc. I just wanted to point out you acting like a spoiled brat and there is nothing wrong with the site even with all broken links and corrupt files(both very rare) I am really happy zonegfx is up and hope it will be for a while longer.
June 12, 2020 at 3:23 PM #1607759A little off topic, but are we using DIM to install stuff? I've always just unzipped to folder and copied it over manually. That way I get to delete anything I don't want, such as readme files and promo shots, and get to control exactly where it goes.
June 12, 2020 at 3:58 PM #1607769June 12, 2020 at 7:59 PM #1607787What it looks like to you has nothing to do with what I was saying.
Yes, I asked for the sense of the report function! When it was working to me and others and now it doesn't this question is not legitimate? Ok, if you think so...
Yes I want to know if an admin is reading this! If so I can expect an explanation where the problem is. If not I don't have to wait for it. This has nothing to do with hitting anyone. Only what you interprete into it.
May be the thread title is chosen not very good. But what is wrong to have questions about the site and what's going on.
May be we could talk now in german. I bet then there will be misunderstandings too, caused by the other side. As I said, english is not my native language.
I just have some questions! where is the problem? And I was thinking this could be not only my problem. So I posted it here. Ofcourse I could write directly to an admin! But I was thinking a broken link report is exactly this! How could I...June 12, 2020 at 8:34 PM #1607798Anonymous

Well, I have reported dead links, missing content etc and not heard anything, so I get what @Snooker is saying.
What I have done is noticing who posted - and I simply don't download from that user again. While it is "just points", I see no need to pay for something I don't receive.
June 12, 2020 at 8:36 PM #1607802I've been noticing no payback for dead links lately as well.
June 12, 2020 at 8:59 PM #1607826Many thanks to Mike and ash65 for the help with the missing files!
June 12, 2020 at 9:50 PM #1607830Understanding the Point System and Reporting a Broken Link - Sans Temper Tantrums
The only person who can pay you your points back of the Admin/Mod group is HUNTER. Neither Monk, Tomsk or I have access to the points in the background and if we gave you from our private point stash eventually we would have to hound Hunter for them back, and prove why we sent points out in the first place.
The REPORT system is ONLY as good as the people who UPLOAD to the BLOG in the first place --- example: if let's say I, AnjaBear, post an item to the Blog, and somehow something goes wrong with the file or the MEGA link, and you, go to the REPORT FUNCTION and report (in details in the text field) what is wrong -- the BLOG POSTER, in this case AnjaBear gets an EMAIL MESSAGE stating that their item was REPORTED... Now as I am a responsible person here, I would get upset that something was listed as broken that was attached to my name, and would immediately READ your NOTE. If I can in fact FIX the Issue, then it is up to ME (AnjaBear) the Blog poster to FIX the files/link etc on my server end - and then I must go to the BLOG PAGE, click on the REPORT BUTTON and there is an option for the AUTHOR to replace the LINK. Once I have done this, then I must wait for a Moderator or Admin to simply activate my correction.
NOW - IF YOU REPORT SOMETHING AS BROKEN - STATE IN YOUR COMPLAINT "I just lost 50 points for this - I'd like them back"... and the Admin fixing the issue will either fix the item, or will refund you your 50 points.
The Blog Poster only earns 20 points of your 50, so if the Blog Poster gives you your points back, they are throwing 30 points of their own on top to give them back to you.
MOST IMPORTANT IS: THERE ARE ONLY 4 PEOPLE CHECKING AND FIXING THESE ISSUES since the system was moved to another server. Hunter is not always around as he is working on updates to the system, and is in a different timezone as myself, Monk and Tomsk. I am not sure if Eelgoo can also fix these issues as he is also a moderator here. BUT BOTTOM LINE -- IF THE ORIGINAL POSTER DOESN'T FIX THEIR FILES AND GIVE US A FIXED LINK TO REPLACE -- WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING BUT DELETE THE BLOG POST OR UNPUBLISH IT UNTIL THE ORIGINAL POSTER FIXES IT. THERE IS A TIMELINE FOR THIS AND THEN THE ADMIN (Hunter) decided either to keep the Blog Post on hold or delete it. Without a fixed file link we cannot fix a Blog Post as it is not our file/files/link. HOPEFULLY THAT IS CLEAR. WITHOUT THE BLOG POSTER COOPERATING WITH US - WE ARE UNABLE TO DO MUCH.
So all of this over 50 points and you came with pitchforks and torches to kill us Admins and Mods like Frankenstein's monster? C'mon. 50 points isn't anything.
Sorry but that is like someone having a temper tantrum. Honestly, chill out.
