I want to load a figure and paint a clown face directly onto texture of 3D face and then save as a new texture.
I have tried using photoshop by opening the texture map up and painting on the unwrapped flat texture maps but it never looks right when its then loaded back onto the face.
What do I need .........to be able to do this please?Ps. In case you mention photoshop, i have cs2 and cs6 but i can not get the bridge to install and show up.
I have had it working once, it was a long time ago, but I cant remember how I managed to to get it installed correctly.
I do have zbrush, so if i can use that to paint on 3d face then i will learn to do it.Thanks

Has it is something i do more or less ofthen and it give me a lot of headache too ! (Tons of tweaking trial and error until i get the right look in the modele in Daz.)
December 24, 2019 at 8:02 AM #1391756I wish it were that easy, and maybe it will be one day. But for now, I open up the, I guess texture maps?...that come with the base characters and then turn on wireframing in Daz and match the polygons from the live figure to the texture maps loaded in ps.
This has helped me in terms of accuracy, but it can be a slight headache.
December 25, 2019 at 7:12 AM #1393106Substance Painter is pretty much Photoshop in 3D, alternatives are Zbrush, mudbox, blender or mari. SP is easy to learn, only downside currently is you can not paint accross UV sets (face/body/arms...), but I think the next release will have that too. For a clown face you should be fine already. I haven't tried blenders painting or mari yet, but from my experience SP and mudbox are easy to learn, zbrush, well not so much 😉

That is one software that i am yet to actually try out. Now i have a reason to 🙂 -
