January 19, 2023 at 3:07 pm #1915689@goblyn Great Sorayama concept. Totally nailed it. My vote is that it's votable. (As in, legit entry.) Can't think of more pinup inclusivity than Sorayama. Can't think of Sorayama without the Gynoids. Awesome water droplets and HDRI choices.
@adelasia Great lens flare effect. Really wraps the digital in reality-feel lighting. Very effective. Next level.
@lucafeelgood Re: "BTW Has anyone Problems to download my Images?"
I figured out the problem: VPN blocking PostImg depending on server location. (Outside US blocked, inside US seem ok.) This is a recent occurrence. Previously all servers worked without issue. Noticed with your images first, by chance. But all PostImg served images confirmed to have the problem depending on the VPN server used. Resolved for now using US VPN servers.January 19, 2023 at 4:55 pm #1915707@adelasia I love this! Super job.
January 20, 2023 at 3:52 am #1915847January 20, 2023 at 3:54 am #1915848Thanks @Spats and @diviniren! But I'm not going to compete. Gynoids are iconic, but I think they're going for a more 40-50's vintage look 😀
It was just fun posting something along side these great entries!
January 20, 2023 at 4:45 am #1915851I hope "..they’re going for a more 40-50’s vintage look" because that's the look I'm working on. Some of the 60s/70s Playboy covers could be considered "pin-up" but the iconic pin-up period is rooted in the mid 40s to the mid 50s IMO.
January 20, 2023 at 5:08 am #1915855@goblyn Do as you will. Vivid light and composition in that one really appealing, and like say nailed the Sorayama vibe, however Daft Punk and modernized (all complements in my book). (Is there vignetting to get the dark edges and central flare/burn effect? Or is that in the HDRI?)
Anyway, somebody keep that one around. Very viewable and IMHO welcoming and site-theme-fitting for return-viewing on the banner page. (I couldn't resist pulling out a certain G3 char myself, in fact, to mess with a mockup in inspiration mode. Thanks for that one.)Do get what's seemingly floated about the 40s-50s vintage look, though, too for current. Still messing with some fog settings (touchy) and hope to post up soon.
January 20, 2023 at 6:37 am #1915869@goblyn I think you and I may have interpreted the pinups / vixens / vintage as separate/mutually independent clauses 😉
Anyhow, my entry from the sounds of it may be DOA, lol. I have little to no vintage assets in my library as a newbie with Daz and this community 😉
Regardless, I thought I'd share what I've done - this is my first composition ever - and this contest was a way of finally pulling me away from endless morph and texture play!
Going for the Retrowave/Synthwave pin-up postcard theme with a cute vixen wearing the Mona Lisa gaze. Is she looking at you? Yes-no-maybe so?
Really enjoyed all the other entries so far, some really amazing stuff! Good luck to all the legitimate entries! In the meantime, I'll share a cola with Goblyn and wait and see what the verdict is on my submission’s eligibility 😉
Entry: Real Feels, Zero Chrome
Download LinkJanuary 20, 2023 at 2:51 pm #1916060@diviniren Thanks! Also I think Your vaporwave/retrowave/synthwave/etcwave, looks amazing. What is in studio and what is added in post/primitive(jpeg/png) maps?
If all that is done in studio then you are a daz studio savant.
@lucafeelgood There you go again, cluttering up the place. I was hoping I was going to be the only one doing a male 'pin-up'. Your render titled "Have to Polish My Hardtail" (I know that isn't the title), looks great and all the clutter really brings life to it.@adelasia I think some of those apples are clipping through the branches 😉 😉 😉 Amazing render and postwork. I have the day off though.. let's see if I can beat you. (•̀o•́)ง
@littleevie You're just cranking them out, aren't you. I really like the first submission. I was told before, that pin-ups need to be bright and colorful.. WE THINK DIFFERENTLY!
ヽ(*^ー^)人(^ー^*)ノ
@brokendroid If yours was a drawing like a lot of those pin-ups were from the 40s-60s, I feel yours would be closest to an actual pin-up, so far. So, so far, congrats on nailing the spirit of a true pin-up. IMOJanuary 20, 2023 at 3:13 pm #1916065@kefka Thanks! I got a lot of help/tips from you, @Frank22, @Littlepleasures, @Lapucelle, and @Lucafeelgood in my newbie thread - especially on the lighting and workspace optimizations.
With regards to my composition, the only object added into the render is the faded sunset backdrop.
Post-work included rudimentary PS develop tweaking (exposure, saturation, highlights, vignette, gentle use of denoise, etc.). I did not use any filters. If I had more time, I'd work in a proper backdrop in the render, but the upcoming week is looking pretty busy for me, so I thought I'd get this draft out now then forget.
The scene itself is pretty basic, so I think the physics of the lighting isn't really a point to scrutinize, but I am/will be working on implementing better scene lighting and shadow physics. Lots to learn!
January 20, 2023 at 3:56 pm #1916072Thanks, @kefka. I was going more for the vixen aspect with that one, trying to access my inner Bob Carlos Clarke.
January 20, 2023 at 5:13 pm #1916091That is an amazing piece @diviniren! You pulled out all of the stops! Loving the dog and the cyberpunk spin on pinup you have there.
My picture is a typical HDRI backdrop, but with an extra point light to simulate the sun, and a slight glare thrown in post (as much as I hate postwork, the robot visor glitched out when I bent the model's head, so I had no choice but to edit it).
@lucafeelgood and @adelasia have beautiful pieces too, perfect lighting. And everyone else have wonderful pieces too.I've been too busy working on a skin for G9, but I may take a break to create a true submission for this. That aspect ratio is just killing me though. I'd prefer a portrait ratio, but I suppose it wouldn't work for a banner :-p
January 20, 2023 at 8:45 pm #1916177As I mentioned to LaPucelle in the start of this thread, not my usual kind of render.. but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.. so here's the first go..
Ready to Ride!January 21, 2023 at 9:10 pm #1916615@bebe Lovely, clean render! The chrome work really shines with that hdri you chose.
Mind me asking which clothing set that is? It fits very well
January 21, 2023 at 9:32 pm #1916625Thanks!
the leather vest is from COG Leather Vest and Bikini for Genesis 8 Female, The bustier is from Classic Biker Gear TWO for Genesis 8 Female, shorts are from Summer Outfit For V8, and the boots are from ZK Country Boots for Genesis 3 and 8 Female.
The bike is a kitbash from several different models. It's really close to the Harley I ran back in the day, save that mine had an 80ci flathead, rather that the panhead motor used here.. Other than that, its pretty darn close! -
