I know I already submitted something, but I wanted to try using a Genesis 3 model this time. Makes you notice all the detail features that are available for Genesis 8 really quickly.
September 9, 2020 at 10:58 pm #1625789i don't think it's the model. I feel it's more the textures, settings, and lighting. DAZ Studio has limitless possibilities and combinations, with normals, bumps and SSSs and other techniques, you can make a low polygon model, look extremely detailed, as with most gaming engines.
Here is custom genesis 2 i was working on for another piece of software, textures aren't 100% complete, but i feel it looks just as good as some of my G8 work. This is pure DAZ render, the face morph and textures are something i made.
September 9, 2020 at 11:30 pm #1625791my first realistic character made in daz studio... used photoshop just to adjust the color and lighting...and to put a photography logo I made up

Looks awesome! Older people have such a textured face 🙂 Could you try a soft diffuse, mesh, or polygonal point light to soften the shadows. I'm curious to see how it affects the bump and normal details, and the shadows under the hat.September 10, 2020 at 5:44 am #1625869Here are mine. Made the faces using Facegen and the rest was made using Daz and a background image.
Hope you like it. Feedback is always appreciated ^^

September 10, 2020 at 9:53 pm #1625996September 11, 2020 at 10:47 am #1626143I F'n hate Windows Update.
I've been rendering my entry for this comp on my laptop at work for over 24 hours. I came into work this morning expecting to see an image at nearly 5000 iterations and instead saw my "Welcome" screen. Checked the temp folder... not in there.
So I'll be starting over with the rendering process. Just wanted to make sure the contest doesn't close before I can get it done.
September 11, 2020 at 11:51 am #1626169I can sympathise with that scenario. Been there many times myself. I think you can change a setting in your systems tab in windows to metered connection. I always get a message warning of impending updates and make sure I delay them just in case.
September 11, 2020 at 11:57 am #1626174Correction. It's in your settings under updates and security. Several options available such as setting dates for updating etc.
