I looked at the FAQ and that line that said "Everything will be posted after a week" or something is gone, but I hope you are right. I've seen a lot of stuff being filled for several weeks that did not appear in the public section, tho.

From what I can tell, the 1 week rule is optional, but encouraged. And as others have pointed out, if someone fills a request and asks that it doesn't get shared to the blog, then it usually doesn't. Why sharers do this is up to them.
