I have read that some Actions work in Elements, but Actions that have steps do not. Do most of the Actions posted here fit that category? I don't have Elements or any PS program, so I don't know, and I don't know who to ask.
.atn files are created in photoshop can also be used in elements.
as far as i know all actions are recorded steps.A lot of actions also depend on the version of photoshop. Just pirate CC2017 and you'll be good.

I thought CC was cloud based so it was harder to pirate? I'd be too worried that I would get a fake virus filled copy if I tried. DS content is really all I pirate, and its usually just to test it out or to toy with something I'd only ever use once or twice.
It is. It's been a while and I don't think I have the original crack. There's a way to do it so that it works but it can't call home.
cgpeers has a virus free copy of CC and the crack, but is only available for registration the first and middle of the month, I have the crack file if you need it.
I would happily accept any version you'd like to upload if it works with the scripted actions I see for it. Maybe one that supports HDR formats? (I really don't know anything about PS, but GIMP does not support them very well.)
I'm not too picky about that sort of thing, I've been getting by with mostly GIMP until now.@polli
What sort of Photoshop version do you have access to ? There are many fakes running around and most cracks are virus and trojan nests. There are sometimes efficiently cracked versions of Photoshop CC popping out but they are difficult to use as the install process may be hazardous and error prone (may only be used on a disconnected machine).
I am sure many people here would be glad to have a decent "clean" photoshop (without the satanic fee of course, I must admit That I would have paid for a classic version but I refuse the lifelong ransom Adobe racket). Further the Adobe team has anti-piracy as one of its mantras (so far tougher nut than Daz).I use a version of CS3 I have had ages. Its getting old now though so some things do not work with it. A good copy of CS6 would be a nice upgrade and removes the CC problem. I have tried to track a few down on the torrents but I am always suspicious of virus filled keygens and stuff.
One thing in the past I have done with keygens is run them on an old computer in a sandbox then copy the serials and activations over. The problem is when you need to replace things like exe files and stuff as these need to be run on the computer where you are installing to. Some may be fine but its always felt a bit like playing Russian Roulette when I have done it in the past.
Actually the worst virus I ever got years ago now was in an old DAZ exe installer someone had tampered with. I had to reinstall my entire PC as it locked it up and deleted loads of stuff. Glad I dont have to use them now.
I generally don't use power features in editing. I mean, maybe I would if I had them. I don't know, but since I've never had any Photoshop program, I don't really have a basis to compare to other than GIMP. Basically, I don't know what I am missing out on. My main desire at this point is for the scripted actions which do not work in GIMP. I'd like to be able to edit and create basic HDRIs, but that would be a bonus to me. Anything else I already do in GIMP. If I was making money doing this, I'd buy Photoshop (at least a version before the subscriptions started,) but it is just a hobby.
I'd guess one of the versions that came out before the subscription thing started would be a nice place to start, if anyone has one they'd like to share.@Polli
There is a misundertanding, I never implied that there was a danger in your offer. On the contrary I wanted to know your source as I was surprised that you provided a link to an official (or similar) Adobe page. So my question remains the same : what version could you propose ? Of course it will be cracked.... If it works for you without causing harm it will be good for most other zoners.
