On the Old Spice Hot Dancing Girl Commercial... I always found it fascinating how Americans [Seinfled], and a flat-mate I once had, are horrified by human odours, and must lather themselves with chemical products lest another, heaven forbid, smell anything like a normal healthy human.
Then again I've always been a particularly olfactory person, it triggers something in me, the smell of finger paint at my old school 20 years after leaving led me to take up teaching. For better or worse I've lived with this Proust effect all my life. Give me a normal smelling person and one perfumed or deodorised up to the eyeballs and I'll choose the former any day. I love how humans smell like humans... particularly during intimacy.

hi , in my opinion male characters in daz are eunuchs there is missing many things , in anatomical elements also male figures miss good realistic ones " all that have realistic title are fake and unrealistic". For Textures also it's not worked enough. body hair is worst they make hair resemblance in texture, but they had to create body hair prop. I like to see real hair, not hair illusion. In female figures also there are some inconveniences that are minor for eg." cup size", body hair and pubic hair.
At least half the work done for females must be done for male figures.
With what is told, their claim of "male figures don't sell" is a joke, if they do a good male character so will see that it will be sold in good amount

I agree with diff stuff being said here there is a big gap in what's being put out for men compared to women it's always been that way , It's a shame actually when a lot of the stuff could be made for both genders (poses props ect) and they choose to make it just for females. They think they know what will sell and they don't care what some ppl really want (All the stores are bad for that), you can request stuff till your blue in the face and they can't be bothered to make it, It's all about what they THINK will sell and what they want to see on their sites.
and yeah I'm sick of the futa stuff , and I see nothing wrong with transgender but futa buh.. and no they are not the same thing.

@Anahita Although there a lots of male gens out there I've stuck with the Daz G8M one. With Easy Control, G8M Gen Toolbox and Pumped for Georgae HD you can pretty much control whatever way you want the G8M gens to look.
I usually use female skins on my male characters because they're better, and believe me it takes a massive amount of time and effort to create a completely new male gen map to seamlessly match a female torso's skin, but it can be done.

I have two problems with the lack of male content:

Firstly, in my non-pirate life I make and sell erotic\pornographic 3d-printable scenes as a little side-gig. I'm a straight guy, but I'm equal-opportunities when it comes to sexual preferences and kinks (and I'm always looking for a new customer base) so I've done a few models to cater for gay men or possibly straight ladies as well as some femdom stuff along with the usual male-centric naked girls. I appear to be one of the few artists who do so however. I get two or three emails a week asking if I can change a M-F scene to M-M etc. When you're working with 3D printed designs, texture maps don't matter as - unless you've got a high-end printer - what you print is coming out the same colour as the plastic or resin you put in, but I like to include full-colour promo renders along with photos and single-colour renders of my designs and occasionally, as part of a commission, I'll be asked to design and render out a full scene with quite specific requirements regarding skin colour, (body) hair, body shapes and genital sizes and clothes. That's usually easy for female characters; I've got any number of morphs and skins I can choose from. But for male ones my choices are much more limited and I've had to turn down commissions because of a lack of suitable morphs, hair, textures or clothing, not to mention non-futanari trans character options.

Secondly, one of my other hobbies is writing (terrible) erotic fiction and then using DS to put together scenes from the story. Once again for female characters this isn't a problem but if I want a middle-aged male I end up spending longer f***ing about with bump and normal settings than I do putting the scene together or rendering it out. I'm absolutely fine if I want 'hunky mid-20s male with chiselled jaw, smooth skin and trendy hair' or 'creepy old guy' but I'm out of luck if I want 'exhausted 40's dad-bod with a balding salt-and-pepper pate.' And don't even get me started on 3rd party male genitals! They might be fine if you want a character who'd take his own eye out if he got aroused, but for any 'lifelike' scenes the standard Genesis gens are much better but of course I'm then even more limited on what male textures I can use! I've currently got three main male characters sharing the same skin with non-so-minor tweaks to base, translucency, bump and normal levels in order to differentiate them. It looks horrible in renders and it annoys the **** out of me, but it's either than turn them all in to 20's ken-dolls.

Then there's tools like Skin Builder. I love it for creating consistent skins across multiple character and from reading the Daz forum threads so do a lot of a other people. I'd love it even more if it catered for males but despite multi requests, Zev0 has said that the time required to create a male version would cost more than they'd get back in sales.

I really wish that the custom male characters Neftis 3D uses in her promos were for sale. I would honestly spend fifty dollars each - broke as I am - on those male characters if she decided to sell them. Particularly these:

To me, these male characters are absolutely beautiful and versatile.

Although there are too few male models around (that's no question) I find them all in all more interesting than their female counterparts. Middle aged or old guys? Basically no problem. Average women? Hard fail. Boobs'n'bum galore, but not a decent flat shoe or every day hair style anywhere.

In regards to a Cary Grant like character: In my experience dial spinning will get you closer to a real life character than any product to purchase. ("Everybody wants to be like Cary Grant. Even I", as Cary Grant reportedly once said.)

Let's not forget the lack of old/elderly characters.

IMHO one of the best figures I've seen on Daz is Male
    https://www.daz3d.com/underbelly-8

And one of the best Fantasy characters
    https://www.daz3d.com/orc-hd-for-genesis-8-male

    Not to mention Horror
    https://www.daz3d.com/plague-wolf-hd-for-genesis-8-male

I wish half that effort went into the cookie cutter bikini models

I'm surprised no one has re-made the different M4 characters for G8M/G3M I think there are a lot better choices too many to list but a bunch of Henrika's (Renderotica) characters , and here are some G8M/G3M characters that I'm really surprised that I can't seem to find , any of my favorite James Bond male actors Daniel Craig , Peirce Brosnan , Roger Moore , Sean Connery and the villain Jaws <-- he'd be very cool to have 🙂

Not going to say it wont happen but, I feel artist would be geared more towards the current flavors of the day. Some still carry over like Samuel Jackson but guys like Jason Momoa are around.

    10,000,000,000x THIS.

Gotta lean on the "Heavy", "Height" (to reduce it), "Breast Size" (ditto) and "Body Size" dials just to make most female characters look human.

PS: I miss Benny Hill, damn it. When I was a teenager, I watched it for a chance to see boobs. As an adult, I watch it for the often-way-too-subtle humor.

@cage said: "I would like to see more male hairstyles. I haven’t found a body hair product that I like. Regular casual clothing can use a boost too."

What about the Jepe Bodyhair products on Daz3D or the lightBLUE ones on Renderotica? None of those fit your needs?

"Wasn't there a store catering to Male products?"

Yes, Ethiopia there was, however, the former owner of Renderotica (who since passed away) paid hackers to attack and destroy the webstore and succeeded in doing so. There was a legal battle over the entire thing, and sadly the store was never back on it's feet after the hackers literally obliterated every file on its server turning them to 0 bytes.

(How do I know? I'm close friends with the people involved in that former store).

From what I heard, a new store may come up soon that will cater toward both males and females but less slutwear and boobs and futanari, but actual male stuff. We will see what 2022 brings.
