I hope that I am not the only one thinking this but is genesis 8 and Victoria 8 meant to be gender neutral character base. To me all of the characters with the exception of one of them all look kind of like they are meant to be a tranny? If there are any transgender people who read this try not to take offense, I am just trying to convey a point. That the jaw line and other facial features look manly. Compared to the prior genesis releases that do look feminine, but maybe they just rushed to market trying to compete with poser and their new base. Like gaming consoles of late just get the product out and not worry about problems until later. The facial rigging is amazing, but with the lack of morphs makes the characters just look more like they should be for Michael 8 rather than Victoria and genesis female. Call me crazy but I hope this changes soon, I just would be happy with some similar power poser templates for genesis 3 because the characters look a lot better to me any way.
June 28, 2017 at 8:54 pm #273479You didn't think the same of Genesis 3?
Because it's the same mesh. Just a different pose and they changed the eyeballs.
You did say any other Genesis.
June 28, 2017 at 9:38 pm #273500Keri for Victoria 8 lol drag queen was my very first thought.
June 28, 2017 at 10:11 pm #273522good it is not just me
June 28, 2017 at 10:47 pm #273543IMO the first Genesis looked more like that.
Usually either an effete male or butch female.:0/
June 28, 2017 at 11:53 pm #273564I have not use the 8 line much but it's so close to g3f that I like it.
June 29, 2017 at 3:40 am #273656I thought the same thing. V7/G3F had a hard face and mouth but at least looked like a woman. V8/G8F looks too masculine, with a long, horse like face and a mouth big enough to swallow a hot dog sideways. I suppose Mike 8 will look feminine. I've bypassed G8 completely. The mesh is the same at G3F, the face is too masculine, and there are far more sculpting systems available for Genesis 3 already. So, why upgrade, since it isn't an upgrade.
June 29, 2017 at 6:50 am #273778did you mean than G8F is ArnoldSchwarzeneggerized
is T-800 effect!
June 29, 2017 at 10:54 am #273877All the new stuff that GF8 is now able to do should have been a product up date for GF3 instead of new character line, to me she does not look any better but rather a step or two back.
June 29, 2017 at 11:02 am #273880Oh yeah as for her looking kind of butch they probably used Davo's Gender Bender on her LOL 🙂
June 29, 2017 at 12:17 pm #273906LMAO. Wow, it's like women don't all look like overly plastic surgery'd glamour blow up dolls or something. I'm sure y'all will probably get your glam Barbie porn star looking characters eventually.
Sarcasm aside, I'm glad V8 doesn't look like a Hollywood pin up model or as creepy as V7 did. I really don't see how she looks more "masculine" compared to previous Victorias, but then again, being a woman myself, I guess I don't "see" it like y'all do, lmao. XP
June 29, 2017 at 3:19 pm #273978AnonymousInactiveRank:What was the point of Genesis 8 if the changes were minimal. Anyone?
June 29, 2017 at 6:59 pm #274084Speaking as another woman, I don't expect a perfect feminine ideal, but the nose on G8F does make her look rather masculine. I also echo the sentiment of with minimal changes, what's the point?

But we can morph the nose and other parts of the doll.
I was wondering about the benefits of G8 OVER G3.
It's just a face tweak by DAZ to create another cash cow IMO.June 29, 2017 at 7:26 pm #274096Ya'll really need to clean up your terminology.
G8F does not look different compared to G3F. They are the same except that G8F's cheekbones are a tiny bit higher. Don't believe me? Load them both at the same time.
I get it. You don't like the direction they went with V8.
Victoria is not Genesis. Victoria is an addon for Genesis. One is free, the other is not.
Genesis * Genesis 3 look exactly a like, at least to the level of real world identical twins.
As for what the point was, Genesis 8's underlying technology is different. Which is not to say radically different. It's same tech base, just different implementations. Which means G8 can do things G3 can't. The A pose, for example, means G8 poses and animates better (at a cost. Generally, G8 will have more natural shoulder s and be more difficult to gimbal lock, and G3 will have better looking armpits).
Does that mean G8 was worthy of a new figure launch? On balance, I'd say no. I can think of plenty of ways the tech (including the A pose) could have been released as what G8 really is: G3.1, or maybe G3.5 if you feel generous.
But seriously: Yes, V7 and V8 are wildly different. V8 is Amazon tall compared to V7. But hell, Victoria's proportions have always been screwy and I'm not saying that from a Make-all-the-figures-look-like-"real"-women perspective. Vicky just looks odd, always has. Even V4's big draw was the wide range of options for making her look like something other than Victoria. That underlying tech hasn't changed, so it's not a Genesis 8 problem. It's a Vicky 8 problem because all "for Victoria 8" characters have to have the same basic proportions or the poses break (which won't stop 3rd parties making stuff that relies on V8 but breaks the poses, but at the first releases from Daz are going to stick V8's rough shape, including the long face). V8 still isn't G8F and G8F is still basically a perfect twin to G3F
