To be honest with you guys, I wasn't going to post this, but I have been creating "OK" images using the stuff that comes in the products I get. I don't want subpar renders anymore, so I decided the best way for me to get better other than using the program was to post something and hope I get some good advice, and that definitely worked!
I have a lot to learn, but from the time I posted the image to now, I have learned a lot already, such as lighting the scene, where the eye hits initially, where to attract the eye, and using the DOF on the cameras which I didn't even know about.
It has taken me a while to learn this because most of the things I do are take architecture maps and create buildings using DAZ. I know things would be easier in Blender, but I like DAZ and want it to be my main program for everything now. I mainly use Blender to cut up Kitbash3D-type products and make cars from the blueprints, which needs some work, too, lol! I have used the geometry tool to cut up buildings, but that takes a little while.
September 19, 2024 at 4:35 pm #2091591I like what you have done with the new render. The new lights look really good.
From my perspective, I would keep the door closed though.
As for wanting to improve...that's how you actually do it...you keep on trying new stuff, master it, try something new, and so on.
September 19, 2024 at 6:32 pm #2091598Practice and accepting criticism is the way to improve. There are few people that criticize my art more than I do.

I agree; criticism is one of the things that makes me try harder. Although I try to explain my reasons, I do accept the criticism.
I have pretty thick skin, so the "haters" I can brush off, and I do know the difference where some people take everything personally.September 19, 2024 at 9:31 pm #2091607Your second image works for me and I prefer door-open. As for the creature, I'd prefer one without glowing eyes/mouth as it's unnatural for a biological organism. Same reason I don't like them in movies or video games. Just my personal preferences.

September 19, 2024 at 11:45 pm #2091612None of these animals have growing eyes unless you shine a light into them, ie reflective.
Considering we're talking about a mythological creature I'll let it slide.September 20, 2024 at 1:00 am #2091621HAHA! I was thinking something like that would be the reply! I'm sure we could shove a light pack in them somewhere as I am learning with my scenes!
September 20, 2024 at 4:42 am #2091628Yes but glowing is biologically possible through evolution or bioengineering. Heck, electric eels can fry an alligator and bugs can cause chemical explosions.
Since this creature is probably not normal it could be a science experiment or an alien. Like you suggested, not of this world but still feasible if you believe aliens exist.
It seems to only take a very mild light to illuminate an owl or cats eyes.
If we really want to get nutz we could call it cybernetics but its probably a demon thing since its religiously themed and illuminated by magic. Magic explains everything.
That pointless rant accomplished, Im not a fan of the glowing teeth and not particularly fond of the eyes

Sounds painful.September 20, 2024 at 10:27 am #2091691A battery compartment conveniently placed! I wonder why they chose that spot!?!
September 20, 2024 at 4:39 pm #2091717There have been some ridiculous toys put on the market. Sometimes its difficult to determine if it was malicious or stupidity
September 20, 2024 at 4:43 pm #2091718my anal pony 😀
September 20, 2024 at 9:31 pm #2091763I had one of these in the 70s.
September 23, 2024 at 6:29 pm #2092287I think this will be my last render. I'm not sure what else to put in that doesn't drag down the render time, as everything I have done to it has made it take roughly 35 min to render, whereas the first one took just under 13 min.
Anyway, look at the original post, then go back to this one. In a short period, with your help and advice, the difference is incredible!
