So, you might have noticed that you have a lot of morphs, but the vendors put them in the Parameters tab only and, even worse, placed them all over the place! and with terrible naming conventions! 😡😡😡 right?
So let me guide you through the fix...
Download DSF Toolbox also found here
Here are some basic options:
BATCH MORPH PROPERTIES:
---------------------This allows you to assign the same Properties to multiple files at the same time.
1) Run dsfTools.exe
2) Go to the "Channel" Tab
3) Make sure only the "Group" is selected [tick the box], and put in the exact Path of where you want the morphs to be seen in the Parameters section.Example: /Morphs/Body/Nirvy/Natural & Privates 4/Breasts
This is where your morphs will be placed in the Parameters Tab.
NOTE: The "Region" box can be ticked but, if you don't want morphs to be placed in that weird paths, just leave it blank (while the box is still ticked!).
4) Press "Set in DSF". This will open a window. Select all morphs (from the data folder) that should go into the "Group" path you chose (so, make sure they are all morphs from the same product & subcategory).
Automatically, this info will be injected into the dsf files.
5) Done!
INDIVIDUAL MORPH PROPERTIES:
---------------------------This allows you to assign different Properties to one file at a time.
1) Run dsfTools.exe
2) go to the "Channel" Tab
3) Load the morph .dsf file you want (from the data folder)
3) Change as needed (I usually just change the NAME, REGION, and GROUP entries).
4) Press Save DSF
5) Done!I would recommend saving your modified morphs with your original files (DIM), as backups and to avoid having to re-do this if you uninstall and reinstall a product.
And here it's how it looks! Note that I also changed the Morphs names 🙂
NOTE: Leave JCMs and things labeled as "Hidden" alone!
NOTE 2: Expressions: Expressions made for 8.0 will sometimes not show up in your re-organized list when loading a 8.1 character.
In those cases, create a copy of the files in either of these folders (depending if the expressions were made for a male or female character):
\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\
\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male 8_1\Morphs\August 24, 2022 at 8:45 am #1859938Thank you very much Legolas, Really useful tutorial 👍
August 24, 2022 at 10:19 am #1859968Thanks from me, too. A good reason to clean up the morphs. But such changes will break all the morphs in the saved scenes, or am I wrong?
August 24, 2022 at 10:51 am #1859983@yngvarr It shouldn't, since this tool changes the morph files directly so, when loaded, the modifications are loaded too.
The keyword here being "loaded". You need to load a figure after the modifications to see them in the parameters tab.
August 25, 2022 at 12:34 am #1860257@Legolas18 Thanks for this. I have quite a few frequently-used morphs that are only found in Parameters. Bluejaunte and Mousso expressions come to mind. I'd love to organize them. I'll give this a try!

will give it a try would be so much easier to find 🙂August 25, 2022 at 6:47 pm #1860493@adelasia You are welcome. Honestly I had a huge problem locating all the dials... PA locations were really messy.
Granted, it takes a bit of work to "fix" these, but I think it's worth it. 🙂
