Daz Corp. - "Daz 3D respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same." Really?
It's obviously a complete rip-off of from the film Tremors (1990), in both product naming and the sand creature itself.

The monster worms don't look a lot like the tremors creatures, but it's obvious they're taking inspiration from them and from Dune

The eyes make no sense for something that's underground though

Yeh Dimer they stuck some legs on the creature. But naming the bundle "Tremors" is a bit obvious don't you think.
BTW I loved the film. Unpretentious and funny and a great piece of light entertainment. (spoiler alert)

Daz's is obviously inspired by an earwig or something like that. They're obviously trying to stay legally distinct, but the influence from Dune's sandworms and the Tremors graboids (especially their grabby tongues) is pretty damn obvious. If they come out with a baby on two legs that screams a lot we'll know which one.

I need to watch the TV series and the 5th-7th films still. I saw only a few bits of the TV show

I haven't seen anything of the TV series but judging by the innumerable re-adaptions and re-hashes and re-makes of films that utterly fail I wouldn't be too interested. For example Let The Right One In was a true masterpiece while Let Me In was a dreadful Americanised plastic copy that didn't come close to the original, in either the acting ability nor the cinematic near-perfect realisation of the novel. Albeit there a few exception with remakes but those are very few and far between.

Further proof that the "creative muse" is basically a human centipede of art. Considering that Tremors was basically a sparsely-dressed Dune ripoff, Dune arising from the tropes of Asimov's Foundation...

Daz is just chewing the latest tail.

It will be interesting when humankind runs out of original and unique ideas. But I don't think we're at that point yet. It's just laziness.

Wouldn't be the first time. I mean Kii'Na HD was originally a Githyanki clone until Wizards of the Coast or whomever cracked down on it and she was changed completely.

It's cyclical - multiple cycles, really. Toss in a few civilizational crashes to disrupt any chance of any of those artistic circles tightening into a vortex, and -poof- - the "creativity" never ends.

@ethiopia - agreed! I am SO tired of modern and scifi buildings and the same fashions rehashed over and over again.
