JCM/corrective morphs are a whole other problem. G9 is plagued with rogue jcms that activate when they shouldn't. Too many faulty G9 characters (even from experienced vendors like Mousso) pass DAZ QC with flying colors. Leaving the end users correct the mess...
For rogue jcm, you can also edit its duf file (it's easier than editing the ERC entries in DAZ imo). In the "output" section, add the missing line that refers the character the jcm apply to.January 29, 2025 at 9:51 pm #2115786If a JCM is activating when it shouldn't, then it means its an orphaned JCM that is not linked to its parent morph. The linking is specified in the second entry of the "formulas" section of the JCM. You can test this theory by deleting the second entry in the "formulas" section which contains the reference to the parent morph (usually the body morph). Orphaned JCMs won't have this second entry.
In the absence of the link DS can't associate the JCM with any particular body morph, no restrictions are applied to its scope, and hence it gets dialed with every character.
Besides EM3D Charmaine, MSO Mako has this same exact issue with its JCM "mso_mako_body_cbs_thigh_z90n_l.dsf". Not sure if this is what you are referring to.
January 29, 2025 at 10:14 pm #2115789This is the "fixed" entry of the formulas of the MSO Mako's left thigh JCM:
"formulas" : [ { "output" : "Genesis9:#mso_mako_body_cbs_thigh_z90n_l-0xa3b09ce?value", "operations" : [ { "op" : "push", "url" : "l_thigh:/data/Daz%203D/Genesis%209/Base/Genesis9.dsf#l_thigh?rotation/z" }, { "op" : "push", "val" : 0.01111111 }, { "op" : "mult" } ] }, { "output" : "Genesis9:#mso_mako_body_cbs_thigh_z90n_l-0xa3b09ce?value", "stage" : "mult", "operations" : [ { "op" : "push", "url" : "Genesis9:/data/Daz%203D/Genesis%209/Base/Morphs/Mousso/Mako/MSO_Mako_body_bs_Body.dsf#MSO_Mako_body_bs_Body-0xa3acee9?value" } ] } ],
January 29, 2025 at 11:10 pm #2115797That's exactly what I was refering to. Adding those missing lines in the formulas is a bit of a pain but it gets the job done.
And it's not just Mako.
There's also Maxine, Marley, Tammy (Mousso).
Dakota (3DUniverse): corrective morphs + her HD navel will activate on all your characters.
P3D firm body and curvy body (from look fairy kit)
Zediccuss Leggy Godess
JS Jenny
Death9 (DAZ original)And the list goes on. With every new pose, you find new faulty characters and orphaned jcm...
I don't remember having so many problems with jcm on G8 to be honest. -
