Collaboration on VN

Hi all!
Don't you just love this site? 🙂
I have been creating artwork in DAZ for a couple of years now, and believe I have something to offer as an artist. I would very much like to dig my teeth into a VN. Not necessarily to make a bunch of money or create a job, as I have a great one, but more as an art. However, I don't really want to write the story, or even do the Ren'Py programming, but really just be an artist. I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I could find such collaborators, or people looking for this type of artist? Anyway, I thought I best 'put it out there' just in case.
I wish there was 'members art galleries' here so I could post some examples of my work, but I do have different renders on other sites, and available to send specific types of art upon request.

Thanks Paul. I had gone there but haven't figured out, is it just post a pic with each post I make to the thread? It doesn't really create a gallery does it?
Is that how I should do it, just make a post with a pic, make another post with a pic, etc.?

Kev, if you are not familiar with it, (and if you are considering doing a VN I am guessing you are)... F95 has a "recruitment" sub forum for those looking for writers/Artist/Programmers

I am messing around with a VN Myself... and actually, to help me along I just went to their (F95's) Game updates page and looked for one that was Abandoned.
My intent was to learn by deconstruction and reconstructing so that I could do my own...

Now I am just considering "officially" finishing the damn thing and putting own game on hold as I am pretty far into the reconstuction the abandoned one.

Anyway, the thing with being a collaborative artist, is that most games will have hundreds, if not thousands of images/animations per update. That puts you on the hook to create all that stuff if you are the artist... If you are just a causal artist, it might be a lot to chew in regards to real life commitments.

I did a VN, if that means visual novel (comic), over at Slushe a few days ago and it got virtually no responses. Probably because their clientale are mostly into big swinging dicks on women, fair enough. I spent ages doing it. Can't show it here because it's a tad risqué, perhaps a bit more than that actually.

No, not exactly a gallery - but for this site you can always just add to your thread [as you suggest] in order to have a record of your progress, or just to just to post random new artwork / look for feedback.

You can use it to generate the required link from your uploaded images.
Just be careful to note when uploading images to Postimages that it is the second line - ‘Direct Link’ that needs to be used, not the shorter first line ‘Link’ [you will get a link with a .jpg extension].
It all becomes clearer when you start 'playing around' with it.

Excellent feedback from y'all and thanks for the links. I figured this might be a good place to start. I'll post a few things, but will definitely check out the F95 site.

Sooo.....

I am kind of curious if we were to pick a genre....

choose some characters/Environments (so everyone was on the same sheet of music).

If we could divide and conquer our way though something...?

Maybe start with a comic (like Frank21) to see if it would work.

Comics are a load of hard work and not just with all the rendering but you have to story-tell too. I've got a lot more unfinished/abandoned ones than completed ones. Comic Life is a good program for layout but I keep forgetting that I don't need to render at my normal resolution as smaller pics are fine for comics.... I waste a lot of time with that.... and not storyboading it first.
A couple of pics from a current cartoon project, which will probably never see the light of day. I lose interest so quickly after a few dozen renders sigh.

I think it would be a lot of work to make a full story cartoon.
As said above, it is a lot of work, and you need te have a lot of things in your library to fill all the scense in a proper way.
Been dabbeling with the idea myself actually...
But The amount of time it will take put me off
But hey, I am up for a challenge 😉
