I have received multiple "Dead Link" reports on posts that have multiple download links if one of the links doesn't work. Its happened more frequently in recent weeks, however it has been happening since I first posted something here.

In the past I was told reporting dead links was for when there are no working download links at all, not if one of the multiple download links doesn't work. Is that still true, that you should only report a post as having dead links if none of the download links work?

I found out that one person reported it because he didn't know what a web3portal link looks like and assume a post had no working "approved" links.

I posted a dead link report on this post,
    Why you ask.
    5 Links were posted.
    2 worked.
    Posting rules state
** We allow Google Drive, web3portal.com And Mega.nz link only for now. ** We prefer Google Drive. And Mega.nz as a mirror.
After 2 dead links, I went for a 3rd, and yay it worked,

This was reported in Good faith by someone who is neither a newby or a hogger.

Rather than berate the person who has reported the dead links in good faith if there not one of the 3 mentioned working ( I have been informed w3s.link is web3portal??) delete your dead links and post the working ones.
And if it gets reported, dont PM the people and have a Go at them or accuse them of wasting time etc.....Just move on, ignore or chuckle.

I assume you never posted something here before based on your response/suggestion. The people submitting posts here do not have the ability go manually go back and edit their own submissions to remove links that don't work. Therefore, we don not have the ability to do as you suggested, "delete your dead links and post the working ones."

Yes WS3 and webportal are the same file host.

You aren't the only one reporting posts as dead when they aren't dead and have multiple approved working links. Its happened to me before when one link doesn't work, but the other approved links do. I was told not to worry about the false reports, even though they waste everyone's time. However, I ended up getting a post removed and marked as dead last year with a working Mega link because multiple people reported it as dead because one or two of the other links didn't work.

EDIT: I forgot to add this at the end of this message. If we get a bunch of false reports of dead links and a post gets moved/switched to dead post status when its not a dead post, it denies others the ability to download the content.

"TRY ALL LINKS BEFORE REPORTING DEAD" message in blog posts?
Updated suggestions/mandates included in the Visual (or other) Guide(s)?

EDIT: Searching (for me) has always been paramount before doing anything here. That's based mostly on forum posts railing on it (and for good reason considering the spread out and dynamic nature of blog and forum posts). But maybe many (most?) don't have the same mentality?
Maybe if some of these line item ideas/requests were permanent, uneditable messages within post headers or bodies it would help to cover the rest?

I am not going to go back and forth with the rights and wrongs of reporting 3 dead links out of 5,
however to then pm the person or persons accussing them of wasting time and calling them entiltled etc, is in my opinion, childish, and unwarrented.

For information I have posted content here.

    I wish you well.

You were never called entitled. I said, "Stop wasting everyone’s time please" and to " take responsibility for your own actions." Nowhere did I call you entitled.

If you did post content here previously, you would have known that I can't go back in and manually and edit the submissions to remove links that don’t work as you suggested previously.

You aren't the only one reporting dead links in posts that have working links, but I'd like to repeat that its a waste of everyone's' time when someone makes false dead link reports.

I'm getting people filing "Dead Link" reports when four of the five or five of the six download links still work properly. Are people that lazy that they can't be bothered use one of the other links?
