This happened all of the sudden and it happens in both Daz 4.10 and 4.11. But every time I apply gens, rather they be "New gens for V8" or "Golden Palace". I get a darker than the character's skin on the gens area. If I turn off the shell for golden palace the anomaly goes away but so does the color effects to the labia minor etc. Any idea what this might be??
Many thanks in advance,
Wile E. CoyoteMarch 6, 2019 at 8:06 PM #987178Thank you for your response. LOL I guess a pic would help wouldn't it? 😛
I tried with no skin alterations at all just to see, thinking the same thing. I've used all of the tan, wet, etc and USUALLY don't have an issue. I've also tried base models and a few other just to see. It's weird that this has happened all of the sudden.March 6, 2019 at 8:44 PM #987221Ive no idea but when a glitch happens to me first thing I do is see if it effects everything or certian things. Load up G3 and drop gens in her if it effects her then its global if not its just G8. Reinstall write over both gens and base figure. Make sure to start a fresh scene. Use a different hdri if thats your lighting. I try to eliminate step by step.
If i "guessed" Id guess the texture wasnt applied from the existing character. Possibly it didnt have a gen MAT or it couldnt find it. Ive not used shells or gens much so Not much help I can offer. Eliminate all possibilities and you may fix it accidentally.
March 6, 2019 at 8:59 PM #987237I have that issue sometimes, the gens are brighter or darker than the rest of the figure. My issue tho was the gens having a shader applied when the rest of the figure didn't have one, like some products load with some kind of surface shader applied to it already.
March 6, 2019 at 9:19 PM #987260I'm assuming you ran the script for Golden Palace and New Gens to get the character's skin colour?
March 6, 2019 at 10:40 PM #987323There is one or multiple surface settings where you need to unlock the limits before you apply the script.
Check the torso surface and the gen surface for mismatches and then unlock the limits on the gen.
March 6, 2019 at 10:40 PM #987324Are you using Shaved Hair for G3F ? I've noticed it messes up New Gens For V8.
i.March 6, 2019 at 11:47 PM #987382OK I just started a brand new scene with just a single BASE G3F/V7 and G8F/V8 figure with nothing but but it's default skin. I only seem to be having issues with G8F gens mismatching. It does it with both New Gens for V8 and Golden Palace.
March 7, 2019 at 1:19 AM #987449Thanks Angel_twins, ill dbl check for any mismatches.
March 8, 2019 at 9:54 PM #989893OK so I ironed out my issue, granted it took a bit of time because of overtime at work etc. I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their advice. It wound up being one of the surface settings where locked. It's weird tho, I don't remember ever having to fiddle with that in the past.... shrug, I digress, it's fixed either way 😀
March 8, 2019 at 10:21 PM #989916Thanks for the update. This can help if others get the same issue.
