Hi Everybody,
Does anybody have a fix for the above problem with MEGA ? It's been going on for a week or two now intermittently but now I don't seem to download anything. Nothing works, re-starting, clearing browser cache, different browser, re-starting router...
Any other ideas ?
i.I have had problems downloading one specific file, it goes up to 7% and then gives me the "temporary error, retrying" message. I have tried several times and on different days but nothing. It has only happened with that one file though (and I haven't mentioned it to the admins yet because I thought maybe the problem was mine).

You are not the only one. I am having problems getting anything from Mega. Usually gets to 4% then gives temporary error. Sometimes if you let it sit, it will resume, pause again with "temp error" and eventually get the file, but it takes ALL DAY for a small file.
I tried different browsers, IP's, all the same. I read that Jdownloader might help, but they are having problems and their download page is dead lol. I guess someone forgot to pay their hosting bill.
UPDATE:
Still not sure what is going on, but I checked my bandwidth and there was a LOT coming down (like almost maxing my connection) but I wasn't doing anything else at the time. Yet the progress wasn't moving for the Mega download. On a hunch I closed everything but chrome (someone said in another forum it worked better with Mega and I use firefox most of the time) and the one tab with the download and it worked! It still hung up a bit but hey it finished in a few minutes instead of all day.No idea what is going on but apparently if you have any other browsers and/or pages open it screws things up. It didn't use to, so I am guessing it is something new Mega is doing on their end. Another one of those "it shouldn't help but it did" moments.
Update 2:
Ok now I didn't have any problems with 2 more downloads using firefox. They weren't as big as the other I was having problems with, but still it shoulnd't be freezing like it was. WeridJust for information, Mega generally works perfectly BUT there is a problem with the LAiney Bundle (stop at about 4%), I have tried to contact the uploader to no avail.
Megas been weird for a while now. Get JDownloader and DL stuff with it. I don't DL directly from mega anymore.
Its not the uploaders. Its Mega.I think the issue may be that Mega put a traffic limit on the user's account.
Too much upload & download & that is your lot for the day.

mega does have a daily bandwidth limit, yes.
i believe however that it is however quite alot for a day. 🙂

just spent some time to analyze the problem.
During the download process JS opens 5 connections to download 5 chunks of data 3.4MB each in parallel. If all chunks are downloaded successfully the process repeats. If one (or more) of the chunks was not downloaded completely during the timeout we see "Temporary Error, Retrying" and it starts all 5 chunks again (even good ones). There is no any resume on each chunk of the group. So that is the logic of mega.
The ideas to fix: try to limit number for parallel connection in browser (i use Chrome) from default (6 for Chrome) to 2... maybe it helps.
Any other ideas?

I very rarely have any trouble with Mega.
I only have the free option. The only issue is when it gets to the quota limit [which is a strange and random figure - sometines I can DL up to 4Gb, and other times it will say quota used and I have only wanted a sub 500Kb file - still not managed to figure out what allowance will be available on any given DL session]. All I do is reset to a different i.p. and restart Mega [I use Nord vpn for all DLs.
I also only set Mega to DL 1 item at a time, and others selected for session just go into queue. All items seem to DL quite quickly by this method - used to have several running together, but each was way slower than when only allowing one at a time.

... and the behavior is different (may be depends on file size?)
The last file of 96.3MB was started with 3 chunks of 12.6MB
then another 3 was added: 2 same by 12.6MB and one last 8.2MBI have very slow ADSL connection (8Mb/0.5Mb) and i think that my ISP just drops packets that are over the limit.... Waiting for GPON in 2 month....
