Might be wishful thinking but I think it renders faster.

Yeah, it has been out for several months.

They have had a couple of public beta iterations on 4.11.

I'm hoping we will see a stable 4.11 release soon.

I've played around with it, the render times can vary, but if you are able to use it the new ai denoiser reduces the time to a clean render by quite a lot (I havent run any actual timers on anything).
also quality of life change, primitives will create with default material of current renderer, so Iray if thats what you're using.

So where is the de-ioniser hiding?

I haven't looked yet, but I would think it would be in the "render settings" tab, wouldn't it?

A logical suggestion, but I can't see it there.

    under render settings, filtering
there's an option for post denoising for iray,
"Post Denoiser Available" -> set to on
    and then
"Post Denoiser Enable" -> set that to on too
also it appears to be gpu only

In the 4.11 beta, items reparent almost instantaneously. To me, this one fix is is enough to make 4.11 a must-have.

Changing parents is part of the editing work flow, and an editing workflow should be real-time interactive. In 4.10, changing parents would cause multi-minute delays (literally tens of minutes in some cases). These delays go away in 4.11. It is now practical to use groups to move multiple items without upsetting their relative positions. Even though the group changes parents, it happens so fast that you don't have to think about the cost. It is no longer a problem if you accidentally drag and drop a character to a new parent in the Scene Nodes tree. It happens quickly and you can undo the error just as quickly. In 4.10, this error could cost tens of minutes. Etc, etc.

Of course, faster rendering is also valuable, and given that I am still stuck with CPU rendering, I need any improvement I can get. But if you haven't seen the fix to parenting yet, look out for it and re-consider all those workflows that you thought were infeasible.
