I don't know if any of you have seen it (I assume you did), but today, Daz released the awaited The Girl 8 model for Genesis 8. And i'm curious to hear what is your opinion on her design. (With comparing her previous version.)

Although i do think there is a bit of an improvement on her general look from the G7 version where i though she had too much of a baby doll look, the G8 face got a little bit closer to what the G6 used to be i feel....in general. But not totaly. Like a midway between G6 and G7.
What saddened me the most though, is how the toned down (agan ?!?) her curve and height.
Based on what is written on the page, G8 stand at:Height - 5'8" (173 cm) <---- (That number seem wrong, it's either 5'6"-173 cm, or 5'8"-177 cm)
Bust Circumference - 35" (88 cm)
Waist Circumference - 20" (51 cm)
Low Hip Circumference - 36" (91 cm)While G7 was at:
Height - 5'6" (177 cm) <---- (That number seem also wrong, it's either 5'6"-173 cm, or 5'8"-177 cm)
Bust - 38.33" (97 cm)
Waist - 23" (58 cm)
Low Hip - 36.93" (93 cm)There seem to be an error on both page about her height, but i think based on what i saw that the centimeter number is correct and they just screwed up the conversion in feet. Still, it look like G8 is shorter and less curvier again than her previous version, G7. And i say again because, alhtough i don't know exactly what were the mesurement for G6 (If anyone know them, it would be appreciated!), but i'm pretty sure G6 was close if not even more a bit curvier than the G7 version. I know at least that G6 was standing at 5'8" (179 cm ).
The Girl, with her G6 version used to look like a decently tall, slender and yet very curvy and mildly athletic beauty exoctic amazonian. Not as much athletic as Olympia, Alexandra or Ophelia i'd say, but still...but The Girl was at least quite a lot more curvier than those girls. I would say that the Girl 6 used to had a bit of a look "a la Lara Croft" i'd say. But as they went on with her other version, i felt they keep drifting away and away further from what she used to be. From the "baby doll" look she had with her G7 version, it look like with her G8 version, they toned her curve even more and again. Today, i feel she now just more more like a smaller version of Victoria 8 with a bigger "tooned" her.
If they keep going that way, in 2 or 3 version, The Girl will be shorter and have smaller curve and bust than Teen Josie, i'll say!!!! Bah!!
Still, i think not everything is a let down. Her "toon" skin texture is a HUGE improvement i think over the more pale/ghosly one G7 had. It's not as exoticly tanned as what G6 had but it look quite nice and i think it'll be used by a lot of people who are looking to have a semi-realistic toon skin with going full toon with the sakura 8 texture.
It's still worth noting that there is also quite some interesting product released with her bundle. Like that Magical Charm Outfit who look quite beautifull i'd say.
What are you people though on her new (vs old) model ?
I have never been a great fan of the Girl base, but I like this one less than the earlier ones.

Im not a fan of toon people. There are a few that look cool but they stay toonish. Trying to cross realism and toonism to me leads to the uncanny valley.
Go with one or the other. Ill download it anyway since I hoard stuff but will more than likely never use it.
I liked Girl 7, tbh and right now, I'm not really grooving on Girl 8.
That said, once Girl 8 hits Zone, I kinda want to do a comparison of all the Girl models from the original to 8. Because why not. XP
Well...if you do that Feymarcher, tell us your impression. That's bound to be interesting.
To be real, it's true G7 isn't bad. In fact to me, i found her nearly as good as G6. Silhouette and curves size, their almost identical. And their height is almost the same. Which i like a lot.
It's just that i felt that G6 had a tiny little bit more of an athletic and svelte look than G7 with her breast about the same size but more perkier. ^_=Also, i think that G6 tanned skin texture was looking better than G7's one. But...that's just personnal taste. And it's true you can easily change that.
I also felt that G6 eyes were a big bigger than a real girl, but not has big like the more tooned eyes of G7. Which is what i was looking for.
But yeah.....at one time, i think i could have use G7 a lot if i hadn't decided to choose G6 instead.
Has for G8. Weeelll.....the silhouette of her body isn't THAT bad has i written above in my first message. She still have some pretty significative curve. (If you compare her to other model like Karyssa and Mika.) But i really don't like the idea they choose to tone down her over size and curve. She is now more on the "petite" size. And i feel that a lot of the reason she still look like to have a lot of curve like her previous iteration of her model, it's because she's smaller. It's tricking ours eyes. -_^
We can see that base on the number given by mesure metric.Speaking of Measure Metric. Does anyone has that pluggin and as Girl 6 model installed ? I would really love to know what are the base stats number for The Girl 6.
(Height, Bust, Waist, Hips)Unfortunetly, i've never been able to figure out myself how to make that puzzling plugging to work.
I'm pretty certain she will come with a "Breasts Implants" morph if it makes you feel any better... 🙂
I know morphs can adjust and tweak part of any model like you want to. You are right about that Dip-Dip ! And i do use them. But still (sigh).....
The base value and shape of a character is still very important i think. (And i'm sure i'm not the only one thinking that.) Morphs can do so much....
The base of your character is the fondation of everything. 🙂
After all, that is why everyone here like or prefer X or Y character over Z character when using and customizing a character.
I have lost the basic foundation of everything.
ATM im going through and deleting any texture that doent look good under an HDR I made in PS. BUT im leaving the morphs attached to that character.
I have more morphs than I can count now. I load G3 or G8 and in some cases G1 G2.
Once loaded I run through the morphs and mess with them till I have a character. I can add any character body, morph, face, ect... to the base. I can have a Girl 8 face with a Aiko 8 body and a G3 texture wearing v4 clothing and g2 hair. All these other 8 characters or pretty pointless. They are basically morphs and a way to generate cash. I bet with enough morph play you could build Girl 8 from scratch.HI ALL

I am indifferent about the model, For me, The base usually don't matter too much because I apply my custom morphs and such to get the "Arachne" character look, So once she hits Zone, I will toss her through the fire and see how she looks, I like the look of her, but the last "The Girl" that I used was for V4 (Swapped to Aiko afterwards). On The topic of Cartoon/Anime looking, I will gladly take this model of the piece of garbage that was Sakura.

I Just seen that typoOnly model i care about is Mei Lin 8. I guess they are going to release everything under the Sun before they let her out.
