my first posted render.
messing with reflectionI see some reflections but nothing from her hands. Possibly a little from her face. Shes awful close to not show up. Sorry im no help. maybe someone with more experience.
My first guess would be the direction light is hitting her.I see the reflections of face and fingers ok.
I see a lot of shite renders on here, especially not enough light in the scenes that totally destroys someones work, and Doggod's comment has made me realise that maybe the shite renders are not the fault of the creators, but their monitors. The scene must look fine and dandy to them, but once it is released and on another monitor, it totally falls apart.@Hawkeye - Personally I wouldn't call anyone's renders "shite", they may not make the same decisions I would but they made the effort and art is what you make of it.
However I do think you've got a point about the monitor situation, personally I have the brightness set on any monitor that I use to it's lowest setting. It will help your eyes in the long run and you don't need it 'that' bright. Also I spend a fair bit of time initially setting up my monitor to display colours the way I'm comfortable with, which I'm aware that not a lot of people do.
I have a fairly decent Dell 27" IPS display as well as an older Benq LCD and with some fucking about in the settings I have them both set up where images will appear fairly similarly between the two screens. Messing with settings is beneficial, however much your hardware costs.
In regards to this picture, I can see the reflection of the person but it's not very bright compared to the room reflected on the right of the sphere. So I would suggest adding more light to the figure if you want the reflection to be more apparent.
@EvilMonkey - Personally I don't give a Fig's leaf what word you choose to explain your observations. You, like many here, jump to wrong concusions when reading the written word. The word 'shite' is aimed at the image...not the person who created the image. The funny thing is, I bet the creator of that image didn't take it personally, yet some other member/s did, so when the creator see's these misrepresentations, a seed has been planted and now the creator starts to think the same way. This is how media and government work to keep people divided and we all fall into this trap.
It is apparent after all that, that I should point out the term 'Figs leaf' was carefully chosen as to intentionally not to infer a personal attack upon yourself, though I highly doubt it will work.
So there you have it.....the first paragraph is an observation and the second paragraph can be construed as a slight attack as it was deserved afterall.

The scene must look great on their monitors but my monitor settings are different so when I see it on mine, it doesn't look right.

@Hawkeye Words are interpreted by the reader and intent is inferred by the writer. You wrote, "...I don’t give a Fig’s leaf..." and I interpreted it as "...I don’t give a Fuck..." as that was what you intended. When you say/write things they may not be taken the way you want them to be read, which is the point I was trying to make with my opening statement. The comeback you replied with seems to say to me that you don't care what anyone thinks and that you don't think that calling someone's work "shite" is a disparagement on the person that created them.
I really don't think you're attacking me personally, so don't misunderstand me, I just think you're a little unhinged. And I wasn't attacking you, merely stating I wouldn't have used a word like that and then agreeing with your point, the latter you ignored.
Finally I want to correct you when you wrote "...the first paragraph is an observation...", no it wasn't, it was your opinion, which you seem to think entitles you to blather inanities to your hearts content. An observation is a report on something you observe, for instance, 'water is wet', 'the sky is very big', 'the world is filled with idiots'; those are observations.
so I kicked up monitor brightness and looked at it on a larger screen AND... I see reflections now. However they are still faint. Im guessing its the black mirror and not the chrome/silver that is keeping it dulled.
I could also say a lot of shite comments are posted. Thats a double edges sword I guess.
but who give a bleep?And while ive seen some nice work from one of the listed commenters in this thread, its nothing thats blown me away in quality or ingenuity. The internet is flooded with extremely talented artist. If you think you are on par with some of them, ive yet to see it.
A quick browse through some of these should help give you an idea of where Id like to be vs where most of us are.
Ive yet to see this quality from most posters here. Yet I still try. Personally I think most of these artist would call your efforts mediocre.
@nemain well done. Its always nice when one knows how to use words properly in order to convey thoughts, feelings, ideas.. It is a combination of both the words one uses and how they are used.
I dont need anyone telling me my stuff is shite, im quite good at doing that myself. You see, not only am i good at telling others that thier stuff is shite, but im quite adept at telling myself it too, unlike most here.
EvilMonkey...you are too full of contradictions to even reply, so will leave it at that.
