Would anyone happen to know where these alphas came from or how they
created them? I like them better than the plain blocks..

There is a program font to mesh exporter that does just about any font you have on your pc https://www.daz3d.com/font-to-mesh-express-converter

    Font to mesh express...
technically, it gets the job done. But it's an extremely poorly-behaved application.
Zero precision is best, 100 worst (???!!!?!?!!)
Preview mouse/key is inconsistent, going fullscreen completely RESETS your input, causing you to attempt to reload your font, which makes the app apparently hang... it actually opened the chooser (which doesn't remember the last font you picked), but it is BEHIND the fullscreen display, forcing you to Alt-Tab to it so as not to reset your input AGAIN going out of fullscreen... then it causes Explorer to hang.
If you know this all beforehand, you can get a line of text out of it without throwing the cat at your screen, but honestly it's easier just to use Blender.

The creator probably hijacked the code from Github and hastily packaged it. I'd be embarrassed to offer such a thing as freeware.
    Have fun!

Bringing text into a 3D modeling program would definitely be an easy way to go.

There are also a few 3d alphabets on 'rosity and sharecg, if you don't mind having a poser format "runtime" in your daz library directories

    Found this.

    Download Blender and install
Add > Text, hit tab key, type in your text
Add solidify modifier, adjust thickness as desired
    Export
