    So I have quite a few of the hairs with OOT Hairblending 2.0 as well as their expansions. I like the hairs and the colors but I cannot get the Hairblending itself to work. I have followed the instructions with no success. I have checked other forums and here which indicate that many of the hairs have older materials that no longer work right, however, there are indications that Georgia Hair should work and for me that also doesn't. I have also tested with the Liv hair which is for G3F and G8F so that should really have the newest version of the materials in it. I can get the base hair color down fine, then I click the Green Activate button which for me doesn't show any visual change, I have seen indications that for some the hair goes white. I then apply the hairblend color itself which still doesn't change anything. I have done this in Texture preview and IRay preview to make sure it really doesn't seem to be doing anything. Also because of other issues that seemed to be hardware related I have confirmed the behavior on two different systems to rule that out.

    Has anyone else had this issue? Is this a known issue with a fix? I would really just like to be able to use all of its features if possible.

    The only way. I got them to work was updated my Daz to the newest version. Not the beta but the newest none beta.

    With every upgrade to Iray there is a risk of knocking out earlier shaders.
    It is likely though that either the vendor will update the files at some point or that another iteration of the Iray engine will be compatible.
    It is a bit of a lottery with shaders these days.

    🙂

    @kooroe I already had gone through that thread and its stuff didn't work. I am currently running the latest non-beta of Daz

    @eelgoo
    That was why I tested all of the Hairblend hairs I have to see if any worked and none did which since I am at the latest version I would expect the hairs for G8F to work with it and still no go. I am guessing though that if there is an issue it is with a script and not shaders themselves because if it was a blanket shader issue than the base colors shouldn't work and they do.

    The real question is with an updated Daz Studio has ANYONE gotten the hairblending to work?

    Something to try as I've just noticed.

    Select surfaces when trying Hairblending and see if that works.

    @norbertz That worked Once I was in the surfaces tab with one of the surfaces selected and did the actions I was able to make the changes and it worked. Further testing is in order.

    Thank you @norbertz for the going into the shader tab was the critical step it seems. I was even able to do it on an existing piece that didn't let me do it a day or two ago. Also the other strange thing is that at, least on the first computer I was testing with, once I was able to get it to work once it has worked every subsiquent time even without hitting the surface tab.

    @Itachi

    You're very welcome.

    I think it may be a bug in the in DS.
    Selecting the surface tab then applying the shader seemed to kickstart the normal process. Glad you noticed the problem too 🙂
