NYC Tenement Superintendent's Office for DAZ Studio
Step into the ground-floor office where an old New York tenement is kept running. NYC Tenement Superintendent's Office is a 4.80 x 3.60 m room with a 3.00 m ceiling: cream plaster walls over a dark green dado, a dark strip floor, walnut trim, a glazed entrance door with gilt SUPERINTENDENT lettering on hammered glass, a double-hung street window with venetian blinds and a cast-iron radiator. It is lived-in and a little cluttered, but it works - a set for tenant conversations, key handovers, late-night phone calls, crime stories, thrillers, period drama and character renders.
At the centre stands the superintendent's walnut pedestal desk with six opening drawers, a banker's swivel chair and a visitor chair. On it: a 1930s desk telephone with a separate handset and cords, a banker's lamp with a tilting green glass shade, a brass nameplate, a blotter, ledgers, a rubber stamp and printed forms, letters and logs with invented names. Around it: a key board with 18 labelled hooks and key tags (Basement, Roof, Storage, Utility, Boiler Room, Laundry, Apt. 1-12), a steel cabinet with opening louvred doors, a four-drawer filing cabinet with tenant files, a wooden office shelf, a metal utility shelf, wall cubbies, a coat hook rail, a utility sink with exposed supply pipes and a small meeting corner.
Load one of eight ready scenes - Full, Empty (room, door, window, radiator, sink and lamps only), Clean, Used, Aged, Maintenance (more tools, a toolbox on the desk, a step ladder, the steel cabinet and two drawers open), Night Office and Cinematic Noir. Every scene comes with 12 cameras: Hero View, Entrance, Desk Front, Behind Desk, Key Board, Filing Cabinets, Utility Sink, Meeting Corner, Character Portrait, Window View, Desk Details and Top View.
Six lighting presets set everything in one click: Daylight and Afternoon (Iray Sun-Sky for New York - the low sun falls through the blinds onto the sink wall), Warm Office, Evening, Night Office and Cinematic Noir (a street lamp draws the blind stripes across the desk). The schoolhouse pendant, the banker's lamp and the gooseneck wall lamp are glowing bulbs plus real Iray lights, switched by light groups together with window, street-lamp and camera fill lights. Props presets set the desk to Full, Minimal or Empty, the key board to Full, Half Full or Empty, and fill or empty the filing cabinet and the shelves; three wear scripts switch the whole office between Clean, Used and Aged, and 26 material presets change walls, floor, wood (dark walnut or natural oak), metal (dark green or gray), the door (walnut, painted brown, dark green, aged wood), the sink, the window glass and the paper. Visibility scripts hide any wall, the ceiling, the decorations, the tools or the meeting corner.

- Iray Uber materials with base colour, roughness, normal and, where needed, metallic maps (2048 px for walls and floor); all printed items - forms, letters, ledgers, labels, key tags, book covers, the telephone dial, the calendar, the map, notices and the newspaper - carry invented names.

Dimensions and geometry
Office 4.80 x 3.60 m between the walls, 3.00 m ceiling; window 1.20 m wide; desk 1.60 x 0.80 x 0.76 m; key board 1.20 x 0.90 m; steel cabinet 0.90 x 0.50 x 1.90 m. A ready scene has about 250 nodes (repeated props are DAZ node instances) and about 180,000 polygons of real geometry. Texture files total about 550 MB for all looks; a scene loads only the maps of its look.
Compatibility and notes
Tested in DAZ Studio 4.24 and DAZ Studio 6 on Windows with NVIDIA Iray, installed from the package into a registered content library (all 8 scenes, all 20 sets, all 129 props, lighting, material, props, window, light-group and visibility scripts, door, drawer, shade and chair controls). No figure, plugin or other product is required. The one-click presets are plain DAZ Script (.dsa) files and only change nodes that belong to this product, also next to other NYC Tenement products in the same scene.
The lighting presets change your render settings (Iray Sun-Sky for Daylight and Afternoon, Dome and Scene with the product's sky images for the other four, and the tone-mapping exposure). In the Sun-Sky presets Iray renders the glowing bulbs but not the light nodes. The window shows the sky; there is no street outside.
All scene images are NVIDIA Iray renders (DAZ Studio 6) of the product installed from the package, lit only by its own lighting presets - no extra lights, no postwork beyond the Iray denoiser; cameras render a 4:3 frame. The wear image adds 1:1 crops of the same renders; the prop and script tiles are the product's Content Library icons (Blender Cycles renders of the same geometry and textures).
Smart Content metadata is included and structurally validated. The product is available through Content Library without it.
Installation
Renderosity: extract the ZIP and merge its Environments, Runtime and Documentation folders into a registered DAZ content library (no enclosing Content folder). Find the product in Environments > AuraVix_Studio > NYC Tenement Superintendent Office.
