but im not sure how to make this work in daz studio

They are Photoshop layers. You import any G8-G9 body, arms, legs etc..texture into photoshop, create or duplicate the layer (imported texture) and put these on top. Then all you have to do is merge the layers and save the textures with a name of your choice.
