As a hobbyist, I use Resolve. Resolve is Free or a one time $295 whereas Premiere is subscription for about $276/yr, or 'pirated' and 'Adobe', which I try to avoid (Adobe, that is, with the exception of Photoshop).
I use Resolve too, very good documentation and regular FREE updates. Of course you need a good rig to have a productive flow. After editing I use Handbrake to convert to light consumer friendly formats (notably webm), you will also need a maximum number of up-to-date codecs, (K-lite is your friend).
