Hello, I have a question about dead posts: when one of them is reposted, is the original dead post meant to remain listed or should it be removed? I'm asking this because, intuitively, once they are reposted I guess that they should work like a filled request and, therefore, removed after a while. Am I right?
I apologize if this question has been previously asked; I've tried searching the forums for "dead post" but, quite frankly, there are way too many posts to read all of them and I can't figure out a better way to refine my search...

When you do a search for an item, both live and dead posts are listed. So they're not removed. Perhaps they aren't deleted because the original poster can update their links. I suppose then there would be two live items. I'm not sure how it all works.
I feel that one should be able to delete one's own posts. Dead posts should also automatically delete after a certain time. All this kruff (chuff, junk) takes up server space. I have a pile of dead posts going back years from several file hosts that went dead or where deleted and I still get the occasional notice. Asking 'someone' to remove them all hasn't worked well.
