Anyone heard anything about retro fixes or drivers for 50 series gpus. My limited understanding is that only the newest daz version and maybe a beta will support 50 series cards. Anyone heard anything or want to hazard a guess?

The latest 'release' version of Daz, 4.24 can NOT utilize the 50 series for Iray, while the beta can. The latest drivers reportedly fix the issues, but I never encountered them so I couldn't tell you first-hand.

RTX 50-series GPUs aren't supported by the Iray renderer in Daz Studio 4.x, which uses an outdated Iray version (2024.0.4). The newer Iray 2024.1 adds 50-series support but was recompiled with a different C++ standard, making it incompatible with DS4's codebase integration. That's why you have to choose Daz Studio 2025 Alpha, which integrates Iray 2024.1 natively, enabling full GPU rendering on 50-series cards.

It's depressing to start a new computer build because of AI , so i won't

My guess is, we won't see a full release of 50++ series support Daz Studio until DS 6.x which will be (hopefully) in 2026, but unfortunately it seems their new released will all utilize their Premier pay/month model, which is essentially DRM. So using things like rend queue and a 50 series card will likely require a subscription because authors like Manfriday are no longer developing their own releases for DS 2025+

@hfofo, it's just too costly. AI has screwed gamers and enthusiast content creators over worse than bit mining. With mining, it was only the GPU's and PSU's that were overpriced due to its existence. With AI data farming, it's GPU's, PSU's, RAM, and SSD / M.2 drives.

So, anyone has any experience with GTX 50XX graphics card and DAZ 2025 alpha? And how is alpha version (good/bad/buggy etc)?

I see, Thanks for the info. So did you do everything in Daz 2025 alpha? I read ppl do everything like pose and prepare scene on DAZ 4.2X then only render with 2025 alpha.

The entire scene was created in 2025 alpha.
It works fine with 4.24 assets, but sometimes crashes due to memory leaks, and anatomy add-ons don't work.
