    I've been installing some game rip characters lately and I realized there are so many versions of the popular characters that it bogs down my library significantly. So I decided to keep 1 or 2 of them.
    I've been trying to decide which Jill Valentine to keep, so I thought I'd get your opinion. It's amazing how different they are. So which 2 Jills would you keep?

    I would probably go for Dazwraps and Sonne.
    BTW, you can probably do a similar poll about Claire Redfield, Ashley and Ada Wong , Tifa and Aerith from FF7; Chun-Li, cos if you're like me, you probably have 4/5 version of them as well.

    @trader2h Same problem, I've been retiring a lot of morphs and my loading time thanks me.

    Is this your version of Jill? If so, nicely done.

    G9. Still w.i.p tho. Probable forever.

    @khefrenn Yes Sonne makes really great conversions and it had overall the best body. He made her very athletic. I've got alot of Claires as well, I'll make a similar comparison.

    @noa091999
    She's so fresh faced! I only have one G9, the one from DazCover I think,but I don't really like her.

    @peepshow45
    Yes, I know what you mean. That's why I decided that unless there's no alternative, I'll stick with G8. It's already ridiculous that G9 has to load both male and female morphs together. What were they thinking, Daz really dropped the ball on the last Gen in all departments. At least Daz Studio 2025 loads the characters much faster.

    Having them all like this helped me also with the clothes to keep and the best was, hands down, from MarcosGab and then Guhcoituz.
    I also appreciated that, can't remember exactly, either Sonne or RomFX had clean head textures while most of the others had burned in hair. That's my main problem with Guhcoituz conversions.

    Really, that isn't a decision anyone else can make for you.

    It comes down to what appeals most to you.

    If you wish to rationalize, you could give a star rating for each version & use that to decide which to keep.

    🙂

    @eelgoo The main problem is that, as ridiculous as it sounds, I've never played the games. The purist in me wants the closest to the actual character but the internet is bombarded with a million depictions of them from generation after generation.

    I don't think that should alter your preference.
    There is all sorts of variations & interpretations in fan art, they are all equally valid, because it is based on a fictitious creation anyway.
    I would just go with what appeals to you, and not beat yourself up over it!

    🙂

    @trader2h Same here. I know more about Jill, Claire, and Ada from being around artists versus playing the actual game. My first attempt was back when it was released on PS1, and I never touched it again. Though I'm sure the series has gotten a lot better since then.

    I also agree with you on the Genesis 9 series. Not only are the models all lumped together, but the clothing is as well. So, what I've ended up doing is creating a subfolder for both Male and Female, as it is with Gen 8. I don't do clutter.

    1. is that all the same hair item, or is there more than one?

    2. If there are a separate hair items, which one(s) are for G8/8.1?

    @eelgoo I know, I should really choose the most beautiful to my eye, but the hoarder in me just threw a tantrum when I started deleting the less attractive ones. I suppose one can never go wrong with Guhcoituz and DazWrap has the added versions with the mutant.

    @peepshow45
    I come from the early poser days and I love categorizing things, so my libraries are all neat and tidy. I've got different Content databases for each generation and gender, others for environments and props and others for lighting and HDRIs. Every generation and gender database has other databases with data folders for less used models that I disable when I don't want to use them. Let's just say I spend way more time tidying and placing stuff in folders than I do at rendering.

    @pooper
    All of them come with the hair models and clothes, so every one has their own hair piece on. They are all G8 models, I've got only a G9 and it's not very good.

    The Guhcoituz one (I think?) has hair with a decent color and morphs, but I've found that you almost always have to have a skullcap under it. Thank you for letting me know - got to try out quite a few...

    @pooper It's because he keeps the burned in hair on his transfers. I had to edit them out in photoshop because they look bad with other hair.

    Jill Valentine was based on Canadian model and actress Julia Voth. I would choose a morph that resembles her, or her best in-game appearance. Like this one:
