Two computers, linked together (one mouse.one keyboard.multiple monitors)
Both have ultra Nvidia Graphics Cards.
All systems backed up on Friday, one at a time.
Or.
I back up whenever there are updates to Nvidia Cards drivers
For the past few weeks have been getting updates for both cards
average of every three days.
Anything happening ( updates were usually every few weeks)
Just curiousDon't update anything if your setup is working as you want it.
That's my golden rule and it hasn't failed me yet.Everything working perfectly, both systems.
No system restore.
Tech guy checks me every two weeks....house call, courtesy my employer
This is not a "problem" just a small annoyance.
When I backup a computer....do not use it.. go to
the other computer.
Backup on one is over 3 hours.
Backup on other is under 45 minutes.
So If we take the big one and it is backed up every Friday..lose three hours.
If backed up midweek (graphics card) that is total 6 hours a week.
Just curious if other Nvidia people noticed something similarI use Nvidia cards but only update them when I want.
Seeing the long list of updates break things left me no option but to take matters into my own hands instead of letting The Corps do the work in the background.
Some of the updates.....I see no difference.
In others (might be my imagination) notice difference in rendering times and
quality.
So if there is a slight possibility of any long term improvement.....Semi-related question - would it be worth adding my old RTX2080 to my current system which has an RTX4070? I use this pc mainly for After Effects, HandBrake and Stable Diffusion (not DS). 750W PSU and 32GB DDR5 6000 DRAM.
Edit - forget it. The second GPU will compromise the airflow to the 4070 and will probably make thing worse. I just don't like having a perfectly good GPU sitting around and doing nothing.
For the extra VRAM, yes.
The only thing to be aware of is the heat when piling cards on top of one another. Good airflow is a must, unless they are liquid cooled of course. Failing that you can purchase a riser card.You need that GPU power. Just buy a riser card and enjoy 🙂

BTW, I'm actually a Nigerian prince and if send me your bank account details I can transfer $1M to your account for safekeeping 🙂 .Along with modifying the VBIOS, driver and replacing the resistors. Easy peasy, I'll knock it over by dinnertime after I put up a few shelves.
