I believe @ADAM or someone else recommended SurfaceWorx at one time to add wear and tear / lived-in effects to architecture and props in Daz Studio.

Is SurfaceWorx still decent, or should I be looking at other options instead?

SurfaceWorx is an excellent and quick solution.

Additionally, if you're handy with textures and shaders there are plenty of sites with good PBR maps and many will have lots of wear/dust/grime maps that you can modify as topcoat maps to achieve the same effect. Also, decal nodes! Hugely helpful for adding wear and other effects in multiple layers (and decal nodes are fully iray surface compatible).

Cant remember if Ive ever recommended it but I use it and others like it often. KA Clothing Decals, Iray Wet & Dry Fabric, FSL Ragged Fabric, FSL Dark Worn, Horror and Gore Shader, ect.. Also geoshells work ok Iray WetFX2

Probably missing some. Just listing off a few I see in my files Most look good but a few are not very realistic. Sometimes Ill alter the texture if Im not feeling lazy.

I like decals. I tend to place them after I pose the character.
