So today its hard to find a good non casual clothes for genesis 9 females/feminine. I tried to assign from previous generations which still messy and it has a lot of skin poking through clothes. Trying to assign uniforms(especially tops) is very hard and the shape just bugs behind the breasts and creates some overlines. But i dont want to talk about fixing it because that is not the topic. The topic is about how Genesis 9 Feminine lucks a lot of these good uniforms that could potentially bring more people to buy their products and not only some people who buy it for self pleasure and that is all. Another thing is Most of the none casual/Fashion(usually working clothes) Uniforms fit for males rather than females, They are oversized and unfirmed which represants musciline rather than feminine traits. That sucks how daz3d signs it that women shouldnt be on workplace and shoudnt be required to wear feminine clothes. it sucks how daz3d decided to make most of genesis 9 feminin clothes look similar and casual while i struggle to find a good uniform for genesis 9. I used to buy clothes (genesis 3 and 8) from daz3d when they had relatively good looking clothes.

Some people said that Daz3d website wont allow "Oversexualized" working clothes when they consider tight,Firmed or feminine as oversexualized. Thats a shame, i stopped buying anything from daz3d and i dont support their work until they actually stop cathegorize jobs as only masculine thing with masculine clothes.
These are examples of what i am talking about:

I get around that by using clothing items from previous figures - G8, G3, even G2/G1 and occasionally V4 stuff (which I have to convert separately). Autofit means you don't have to choose between missing out on a figure you might like, or using goodies from the past.

    Autofit isnt always working

Sometimes it flubs, but for 90% of the time (at least for me), it works fine.

The only issues I find with it involve footwear, and occasionally hair. Hair I understand though, since I tend towards the toonish, so the neck squishes in when I use autofit (and the fix for that is to just parent the hair to the head w/o fitting it.)

I tried autofit from a G3 Piece which is a dress and it works pretty nice and dandy. Problem is the dress down to the waist does not move with the figures legs and instead remains stuck in place like it's frozen. Any way to remedy this ? (It was tried on G9 figure and I'm guessing there isn't any convertor from G3 to G9 clothing unless I go G3>G8>G9).

Hair autofit removed the bones which is a big no no for me since i want hair physics in unreal engine

    I don't bother much with G9.

    I stick to G8.

There are occasional decent G9 outfits or hair, but not often.

Do you think the fitting problems are because G9 is a unisex model? I can understand why there are so few uniforms for any figure because there is more demand and flexibility with casual/fashion clothing. I agree that Daz reflects outdated gender stereotypes but so does art in general... have a look at Civitai where bonking looks like the only worthwhile female pursuit.

Going in a "bad direction" or simply not going in the specific direction you want?

Clothes can easily be converted from opposite gender and/or different generations. With a little extra effort anything can be made to fit any character. Vendors are not under any obligation to make every type of outfit for every generation/gender, and with Genesis 9 clothing is essentially gender neutral.

Keep in mind that sales for all Genesis 8 products have dropped by nearly 85% in the past 5 years, so vendors are making less (and limited quality) because there's very little money it anymore. Making "alternates" of everything would just take more time/effort with minimal returns. If anyone thinks differently then try making assets for Daz and watch them not sell.

Daz is novelty toy software, so vendors are moving toward making higher quality assets for professional software (which is easier, quicker and results in more sales). Don't expect to see more/better assets for Daz; expect to see more AI generated props/sets, lower quality textures, and fewer options for outfits as time goes on.

Daz is not "going in a bad direction" by choice, it's just dying because nobody is interested anymore. It's a tiny, tiny niche that is fading away. Sure I love playing with it but the writing is on the wall... again, ask any vendor and we'll tell you: sales have dried up and are getting worse, even for the highest quality assets. The interest is gone.

So, don't complain; try making stuff or converting stuff yourself and see.

From what I can gather Daz has been shedding employees since 2021. When was it Tafi took over?

It was about the time that Studio 5 was announced although I didn't pay attention. It's interesting that all the stupid stuff has taken place since then making me think that Tafi is one of those equity firms that's concerned only with short term profit. They don't appear to be making ANY kind of decent profit so I figure they're gonna sell it soon for as much as they can.

For @LivingPixels You sound like a vendor from Daz3d. Vendors shouldnt be here since its a site for free daz3d items.

There are some good high quality items like AJC Senshi Legacy Outfit For Genesis 9 and other AJC items
and also Sue yee makes good clothes.

The main reason why daz3d drops on sales in the last year is because the newest clothes are repetitive and have similar themes. As i said: if they make similar clothes with very few themes(mostly casual) that would lose interest in people who want other themed clothing and simply stop buying it.

There are a lot of free items here on this site that i dont download it because it doesnt fit my style, Same as others dont like the style i like. It works by supplying for larger customer audienc. Other people like casual clothes that is true, but vendors from daz cant expect to get a lot of money if they sell the same cathegory.

Its like a grocery store deciding to start selling only vegetables and expect to gain more money. That cant work.

    * Le Sigh... *

You do realize this argument has been going on for decades now, yes? Even when Victoria 3 was the new sweet hotness, everyone was complaining about there being too many "slut clothes" about.

The reason you didn't hear as much about it during the reign of Victoria 4 is that Vicky4 came out in 2005, and stayed out until 2015, and still had a lot of stuff made for it until somewhere during COVID or so. That many years meant a wide variety of stuff. Same story with Genesis 8, which came out in 2017(!), and has at least 7 years of stuff made for it (right up to today), as well as being able to wear (via autofit) all the older figures' stuff.

Genesis 9 is still relatively new, and while autofit does work for it, autofit is not a perfect solution, so...

...anyway, I'd say either give it some time before passing judgement, commission some stuff with various vendors, or bust out Blender and start making your own.

There is truly nothing new under the sun, is there?

The reason vendors focus on casual clothes and bikinis is because it sells best. Most adult visual novel games are set in todays time so that's the main audience right there.
If there was big money in military, historical, etc clothes we would see more of it. But why waste more time and effort on something that will get you much fewer sales than bikini no.245?

Vote with your wallet to get what you want

    Or make what you want.
There was a time when there was a greater variety of clothes and accessories because there where a lot of people making what they themselves wanted. They had small sites where they sold their items; it was more of a hobby. There's still a few of those around and one new one that I know of (3D Shards). I've been working on my own wants for many years. I haven't finished anything (I get side-tracked easily) but it's been a hoot and I've learned an awful lot.
