Not sure where it happened, but at some point as I installed things, I started getting that error message. Told me to look at the log file. I don't see it. I remember that the problems started a few days ago. I was installing things like smoke props, etc. Now Daz is taking all day to load. How do I fix this?
open daz, open the logfile( Help>troubleshooting>View Log File).
Delete everything, save file.
if you remember when it started, and what you have installed since then, start with a single item.
load Item, if no error message, open logfile and clear/save
Delete item from scene, go to next item until error is given.
check log file
There must be a:
Duplicate file ( or something like that) followed by a path ( c/gen8/data/etc)
Go to file in explorer and remove fileAfter you've found and fixed the problem, go to the Daz forums and complain loudly and vociferously.
Demand that they stop screwing around with Studio 4, making every 'update' worse, and get on with Studio 5.Rank:Took me awhile, but I figured it out. There were two characters with the same name and files named accordingly. You wouldn't happen to know what files I would have to rename and how to make it work so I can keep both installed, would you?
