Quite often i"ll see a filled request and I'll think to myself, I wish I could have gotten in on that one. In a lot of cases, those items don't seem to make their way to the regular blog afterwards.
At that point, one must create another new request to try and acquire the item.
Any suggestions on the easiest way to jump in during the 48 hr period before the request dissapears?

The FAQs should be updated to answer this question, it comes up a lot. The current FAQ's are really outdated ("contact Tomsk"???). Tomsk was the greatest mod ever, but I haven't seen him here in years.

To @legetech, if the request thread identifies the filler, PM them and offer points for the item. If the filler is anonymous, you usually have to just start a new request thread. As often as not, either the anonymous filler will then fill your new request or one of the people who got it from the filler will eventually fill it. But sometimes, you might have to wait months to get an item this way.

    Thank you @ulysses
Seems to be just my luck that the items I tend to see or want don't have the filler listed. lol
Oh well, back to the old fashioned way of creating a new request. 🙂

Currently, you can either "copy the request", ask one of the offerers who filled the item so you can PM them (you can still transfer points manually) or wait for a public release (maybe it's already in the upcoming section).

We are still planning to implement new features, like a copy request button for the filled requests, but we have very minimal free time :/

    Thank you @Warrant63
I'll try and "copy" a request and see where that takes me. As I mentioned before, it just seems to be my luck that most times, the filler is not listed and the items don't seem to make their way onto the blog. Most times I just end up creating a whole new request. Definitely no big deal, just a couple extras steps really. For what it's worth, I'm always happy and appreciate all that you mods do for us in the community.

Note that after, I think it's 14 days, a filled request may be posted to the general blog by anyone who has received it.
However, there's always an however, if the filler has asked that the item not be re-posted then that should be respected.
I think that's the reason why filled requests are often not appearing on the sharing blog. Not a complaint as without fillers a lot of stuff wouldn't be available to anyone.

People re-filling requests with the original fillers link and file is a dirt move. People don't want their files sent out for a reason. It doesn't matter what the reason is.

That it happens all the time, even when the original filler specifically says do not reshare, is probably the reason why a lot of former fillers (I count myself amongst that number) no longer fill requests.

Yep, a dog act. This seems like a legitimate reason to get a share taken down and a warning sent to the offender. Perhaps followed by a ban. Have you ever tried to get admin to remove a share/re-fill for that reason? I guess it doesn't stop people from just creating a new link and pretending they bought the item.

I must agree that sadly not everyone has values or principles anymore.
I do love the new request system and it defintely is more efficient than the old request forum, but in this particular case, at least with the old system, the request stayed visible and one could even go back and bump an old or already filled request if need be.
At the end of the day...no system will ever be entirely perfect. lol

@frank22 We are currently doing this exactly. One Final Warning then a Ban. I started to add these warns to the public problem thread now too, so maybe folks will pay more attention. @bad_mojo contacted me, but all 3x resharers were different persons.

    Observation:
    I purchase and fill requests based on three factors;
    1. Can I use it
    2. Price
    3, Points

Once purchased ( and sometimes detracked) I post it
as soon as possible, anonymously, leaving skid marks on my computer screen.
    Why?
On three separate occasions I have purchased items, then
found while they were downloading, were filled by someone else.
Like a kick to the solar plexus.
I will however keep filling the item when they are Rerequested.
As a courtesy not for the points.
I will not fill via email, only requests
There have been times when I have filled a request, it has
been rerequested and someone else has filled it (they were
    on the original request list)
    Or
I have found the item in the upcoming list.
This becomes important for a Render Hub file that has
    been detracked.
Recently a member apologized to me for doing this.
    The member was short points.
Fortunately these instances are few and far between.
Irksome, but the cost of doing business.

"People re-filling requests with the original fillers link and file is a dirt move. People don't want their files sent out for a reason. It doesn't matter what the reason is."

This is why when I fill a request, I take down the link 3 days later. Before anyone asks, the policy is 48 hours to pick up a filled request, so I believe that 3 days is more than sufficient. If someone still misses it and asks, I'll put it back up for a day or two, but then delete it once more.

That alone tends to wipe out any dirtbags who try to cop points off of a filled request - they might get a day or two off of it, but it'll become a dead link quickly after that.

    Grouchy Old Fart:

Thank you for the excellent suggestion!!!!!
But, question, are your fills anonymous???

I normally fill re-requests of my files as well, however, more often than not some leech will pop in and use my file to fill before I get to it (I do not believe for a minute that someone who got the file in the original post and filled a request a day or two later legitimately bought their own copy. That's nonsense.)

@Bad_mojo Which is why when I fill a request, I'd schedule a post immediately but with delay e.g. 1 week, 2 weeks or even up to a month and result in no re-request (most of the time). Sure, lesser points to be obtained via these re-requests but I usually fill things that I want, while the points are a nice-to-have. But that's just my way and it doesn't apply to others with their own reasons.

And this isn't fool-proof though, as it merely mitigates the situation mentioned here. There will still be people who don't respect basic, simple rules. Oh and yes, even when you're sailing the high seas, the mates are expected to be civilized and respect each other. What would they do for those who don't? Asked to walk the plank, usually.

There are instances when you ask to not reshare as you'll post it sometime after, some people would still do it for the sake of "credits". I've came across this type of people once, and dare I say such motherfuckers must have created other dupe accounts here already.

Ultimately this is a cat and mouse game, and this kind of act needs to be reported once spotted no matter if you're a requester or a filler spotting one such instance.
