Another pointless argument...
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/683351/anyone-else-a-bit-concerned-by-the-pivot-towards-adult-contentApril 21, 2024 at 2:41 PM #2071426Meh. I stopped reading after about 25 comments, but almost all of them seemed accepting and happy about DAZ allowing more risque content in their store. Even Haseltine was nodding his DAZ-filled pea-brain in agreement. We've had the same discussions here about the same thing on zone. A few people just wanted some filters, but not even many of those kind of posts.
April 21, 2024 at 10:41 PM #2071492I have never seen a nudity pic on DAZ. Ever. In the shop or in the galleries. They don't need filters. The site worked for years without them.
But, that was before RenderHub existed, so maybe they're looking at their competition, and thinking, they have filters, so maybe we need filters too. But there's a reason they have filters, they allow nudity, DAZ does not. So it's quite dumb to put filters on something that doesn't have nudity.
April 22, 2024 at 12:53 AM #2071506Well, Daz does allow nudity now.
April 22, 2024 at 3:02 AM #2071522There are fully nude characters in promos now, eg. Tempesta3d's store. It might be limited to products transplanted from Renderosity store however.
April 22, 2024 at 5:08 AM #2071527Not limited to transplants. The Cheyenne 9 promos include a nude shot front and back.
I'm surprised they never received more push back from customers."I'd like to see the texture I'm buying"..."But you can't...we won't show you, because the female nipple is evil"April 22, 2024 at 5:59 AM #2071531Anonymous

I have never understood the fact of wanting to hide even the simplest nudity in Western societies, the female body for example, symbol of beauty and childbirth whatever the culture and time, so that it was shown in ancient Greece and Rome.
It is still written in the Bible that Adam and Eve were naked without being ashamed of it.But when I consult the websites for downloading American comics, I am surprised that almost all their covers display without any censorship only characters fighting, armed or unarmed, wounded or dead or even mutilated, monsters and black magic.
What paradoxes 🤮
April 22, 2024 at 6:20 AM #2071532My comments usually get deleted so I don't interact with them.often.
April 22, 2024 at 9:56 AM #2071574@CastiglioneFrancis, It's not Western, it's exclusively American and I too, am perplexed that a country that's so religious (70% of Americans don't accept evolution) and worships gore and violence, goes hysterical at any hint of a breast. I watch vintage lingerie on Ebay and I frequently see mannequins with a bra on when displaying revealing lingerie. It's a hunk of fiberglass!
Posts usually start off with,
"I have nothing against nudity, but...." followed by a list of what they don't want to see. There's always (and I mean 'always!") a couple of people who jump on this war wagon. We even had some here. I feel quite strongly that we should allow EVERYTHING to be openly posted here and tell those who complain to just fuck off.April 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM #2071583April 22, 2024 at 10:46 AM #2071585Anonymous

Ethiopia, if it is possible that you are right when you write "it's exclusively American", then I would expand with the Anglo-Saxon world from which American culture originates.
Because it does not seem to me that nudity is represented in Anglo-Saxon art, except as much as in Western art of Mediterranean origin 🤔April 22, 2024 at 11:08 AM #2071586There is good reason for relative lack of nudity in Britain.
It is a lot colder than the Mediterranean area!

April 22, 2024 at 12:56 PM #2071602April 22, 2024 at 1:55 PM #2071610Back in their earliest days, DAZ had to worry about their locale (They're originally based in some place called Draper, Utah. If I remember right, when the company was founded, there was still an anti-pornography law, and they could've had their local business license jerked if the authorities deemed them to be pornographers). There was a real big discussion about it around 20-25 years ago, when someone asked about DAZ making realistic genitals for their figures.
I can see how the laws of the time would make them careful to avoid the whole nudity thing, though it seems their local legal landscape has changed enough to allow them enough room to show nudity these days.
