After following the thread at Daz regarding their implementation of their new 'mature' content filter and keeping in mind all the ridiculous gafs they've pulled lately (NFT's), I've decided that Daz will now be called 'THoM' or, The House of Morons.
March 13, 2024 at 2:28 PM #2063569But they don't have any mature content to filter!
I could get it if it was like 'Rosity was a couple of years back, where the content filter actually covered nudity!

March 14, 2024 at 12:40 PM #2063709I trashed my last unrelated rant so here goes again.
Even the HD maps have a content filter over them. Laughable.
If there is nothing offensive to be seen just make it up.March 15, 2024 at 11:16 AM #2064002Actually... it isn't entirely stupid on their part to add that filter. This way, they can brush of any whiner complaining that "something inappropriate" was seen on the website by their kid-who-shouldn't-even-be-surfing-that. "We put up a filter. You were warned that there might be someone in a bikini on that picture. If you've seen it, then it means you intended to, now bugger off."
Saves a lot of time and bickering.March 16, 2024 at 11:12 AM #2064223Anonymous

Egad...
Well, at least Daz3d has a filter... here they just get shit-canned
March 16, 2024 at 2:58 PM #2064275Apparently this is a PG-13 filter, not a 18+ one... And yes, they are planning to blur alcohol and tobacco pictures, as well as skimpy clothing and every bikini item.

I feel like Daz and 3D work in general should be accessible in professional, educational, and family environments. There is a stigma against Daz being a "porn generator" and taking steps to undo that is a good move on their part.
In practice, I think they need to not try to let a badly trained AI determine what is and isn't filtered. But, as others have posited, I too don't think they have the manpower to review it all manually.
March 17, 2024 at 4:44 AM #2064387well DAZ is based in Utah, so the recent ban/restrictions on NSFW/mature content (which North Carolina and Texas later joined in on) probably forced DAZ to be safe than sorry.
March 17, 2024 at 10:03 PM #2064540I don't know about anyone else but for the past week Daz has been flooding my email with ads. The only ones I got before were telling me my comment/s were removed 😁. I think I'll need to set Daz emails as "block".
