Hey there, mes amis!
First off, this isn't to give the poster of these two components any trouble; they may not know that both of their posts on December 10th (that I've found so far) here and hosted on Bunkrr are gone, 404/absent. Mostly this is because I've already posted them about one and then after purchasing a second by them on the 10th the link was also dead; it's recent enough that if there was some kind of takedown, intentional or otherwise they may not even know about it yet, and I don't want to spam their inbox more than once if I find more of them.

I have very little familiarity with Bunkrr and I have no idea how their takedown policies work.
This post is meant both to let the poster (michaelx25a) know two of his posts on the same day and the same hosting site are gone (which suggests there could be others) and neither of them are marked as Dead/Please Repost, and that he should be contacted to let him know, if he doesn't know before anyone else purchases them. Again, given that both were added three days ago I may be the first user who's noticed since they were pulled or went missing.
I'm keeping the one DM I've already sent michaelx25a sent and I'll fill them in with further detail if I get a response.

.. a post will be marked Dead if it is reported and then verified.. you can use the Report button below the download link to report the post as dead.. the poster will get a mail notification if a post is reported..

It's all good. I'm not going to assume malfeasance unless there's a broader pattern cropping up in the user's behaviour one or more of us find but for the moment I won't touch any of their posts, mostly because it if wasn't deliberate and there was no intentional crap being pulled I'd prefer to give them time to respond if they genuinely don't know about it and no harm was meant. Again, I don't know what Bunkrr's policies are to takedown request, for example, as I think it's only been used broadly as a posting site for users here over the last handful of months.

I knew it was one of the two buttons but I didn't know which one; the UI's changes per page on ZoneGFX since the summer don't make it clear (there are two [REPORT] buttons that are visually identical per my browser's display at client-end, and nothing comes up at the bottom of the browser to identify which does what in the bar at the bottom, not name nor linkout URL) and lately I've been more cautious than usual about clicking on any button I can't identify. I'm considering putting in a support ticket to request the return of a button specifically for reporting dead links which has been absent for at least a few months now.

Yeah, and that's why I'm cautious and took this route instead, and why by that lack of clarity in the revised UI I will be putting in a support ticket. I don't mistrust ZoneGFX the site or the core admin, but I won't not be careful when something doesn't look right to me and assume no risk in flying blind. 'Click the right one' is not practical, 'Properly marked' is simple sense and courtesy; normalized ambivalence rather than maintained clarity and reliable default is a hazard, not nearly good enough.

So if Michaelx25a is not renewing these posts and is not sending out working links [just to be petty] I would expect a return of points provided to him for any of these items.
they may not add up to much but even a pirate site should follow the rules and treat members fairly - whether for 5000 points or just 50... 🙂according to his profile, he was active since 2 hours ago (from when this comment was made). either he's trying to fill the reupload requests or something more shady is happening.

looks like he changed his name to: "MATT (Bunkr account was hacked and all my files deleted) will update when i can..sorry everyone". so we now know he never had any bad intentions.

Honestly, knowing that was what happened makes me feel a lot better, but it's still good to hear it anyway even if I'd doubted briefly, and I think I did. Gut reaction but I fought it off, and that's a lot better than where I would've been years back. A few years ago I know my reaction would be a lot worse, so I'm glad I'm where I am now and believed more in pilot error than somebody pulling a snatch and grab, which frankly wouldn't be like anyone I've met on ZoneGFX and the userbase thus far.
Matt, when and if you read this, thank you. Every time I know someone cares enough to make the effort even though from the outside in it's going to look like In 2023, Fishiness Was Happening, it reinforces my belief in others. I've been in that spot myself, a very long time ago, when the first dial-up modem I owned died and I never figured everyone I knew I was out of touch with would think the worst of it, but I got the stick for it and no-one ever believed me, then or since. I tried not to think like that, even so long ago. I'm glad I still try not to think anything other than that by personal modum and tone.
By the way, I'm pretty sure now I know why 50 credits suddenly reappeared in my account after I posted Matt in DM about that first dead link- if it was me, I'd likely be a bit unsure of how I'd be responded to and it was the best thing he could do, if it was him. I can't think of any other reason it would've happened, so once again Matt, thank you.

The points system for the new requests is all very well - what about something to return point for items that are not available, and no working link provided.
On a matter of principle i now have 2 such purchases [apart from anyone else in this thread, and those not having notified].
This is becoming a license to collect points with no item provided and no repercussion... 🙁Sorry folks I completely missed this thread :/
Yeah michaelx25a sent me a PM before all of this about the link errors and we realized that his Bunkr account got nicked.
We try to remove the free and "click bait" items all the time, but we are still volunteers with limited time to keep everything clean. I agree with you, that there should be some sort of refund if the item was already dead etc, but I can't see atm how we could implement it :/ We don't have the resources to add many plugins to our server and we only have one programmer to do the heavy work.
The image replacement will be probably solved after the request system, but I can't make any long term promises 🙂@warrant63
It would be nice if a general rule was implemented that the OP - in this situation - were to directly refund the points [as a matter of principle and conscience]But despite the circumstances and in spite of PMs - Nothing.
With no apparent 'method' to refund it would be nice if Admin reminded [prompted] the OP of this option
obviously happy to keep the points that nothing was provided for... 🙁
