Waiting for things to simulate for a half an hour hoping everything doesn't blow up sucks.
Adjusting the crap out of poses to keep the hands out of the way while a dress simulates, only to see it get caught up on a hand that's like a foot away from the skirt....sucks.
Slowing down the workflow waiting for the stupid simulation when the waiting on renders slows things down enough sucks.
Give me a lot of bones and morphs on a hairstyle or an outfit. I will gladly, painstakingly, position every strand of hair and every section of fabric to make it believable. It's better than trusting the one-click simulation settings and crashing a decent subset because I simulated before I saved.
It's garbage. It's so unreliable and unnecessary/useless in most situations. It's so much more trouble than it's worth. Bones and morphs. Enough of the fancy crap that doesn't work.
Daz should invest their resources into making their animation stuff not such a joke.
I'm so sick of wasting time screwing with a bunch of buggy shit that gets in the way of actual creating.
Dforce sucks. That's all.
November 26, 2023 at 11:24 AM #2044943Hello !
I've had the same issues as you !Take DAZ for what it is, no more.
A huge source of assets, and, with the (great) help of The Zone, they are free.
Then, if you want to go further, you need different tools.
For the clothes, Marvelous designer is the one to go. Type it in the ZoneGfx seachBar.
Download, look at somes tutos and go.
Take time to manage it. It's the best one.
For all others aspect go to Blender.
Yes it is another world, but with endless possibilities. Then you will completly forgot " DForces" ! 😉
Daniel.
November 26, 2023 at 11:35 AM #2044948I agree it sucks that's why I try and stay away from the longer hair and dresses , sleeves ect it can be a pain in the butt and ruin hours of set-up.
November 26, 2023 at 1:57 PM #2044991I tried marvelous Designer and I can say that it is a great tool. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get the clothes to follow the poses. I watched some tutorials, but it seems all so complicated
November 26, 2023 at 3:28 PM #2045048Try this tutorial. I kind of worked for me but I need to work on MD clothing more and watch other tutorials because there seems to be a lot of information missing when you run into problems..
November 26, 2023 at 3:34 PM #2045050Starting with MD :
Becarful with lot of tutorials.
They use the MD model with auto attachment points you will not have with DAZ importation.
The workflow isn't the same.
Begin with really simple garments.
And help MD with pre positionning the different parts as close as possible within your model.Don't take care about texture. Blender is really more efficient for that.
When you will manage these basics, you will be able to make more complexe garments.
At the end.
With very limited skills like me, we can still have fun.Daniel
November 26, 2023 at 4:00 PM #2045060@inversekinematics thanks: I'll try
November 26, 2023 at 7:40 PM #2045110Dynamic morphs are a lot more reliable, controlable, and quicker.
November 26, 2023 at 8:47 PM #2045125I've always called it 'DFarce'.
It'll never be fixed unless we scream bloody murder in the Daz forums and stop buying items with DFarce.November 27, 2023 at 1:11 AM #2045166That would be difficult.
Just about every clothing product & most hair products are saddled with it.

Yup. There's this one hairstyle called Bunny hair that I wish more creators would emulate. There are three bones in every group of strands about the thickness of a shovel handle or so. I just select the bones, bend them where they need to be, and everything's good to go in minutes.
In contrast, there's Romantic Curls hair, where you have to wait ten minutes to simulate, bend the hair via morphs, then simulate again for another ten minutes. And then, if the hair still doesn't work for the pose, mirror the pose and simulate again. Fun stuff.
November 27, 2023 at 11:09 AM #2045245I like to use updos so I rarely run into problems with hair.
November 28, 2023 at 2:35 PM #2045502Add me to the 'dForce sucks' column. I understand the perfectionist type that wants to spend hours on end draping things just so, but I'm not one of those guys.
Fortunate for me that I have a literal terabyte + of clothing I can draw from for any figure I have going back a lot of years (I use Cross-Dresser to convert stuff up from all the ancient Poser figures, then apply subdivision + Fit Control.) Toss in a new fabric texture/shader from the library, and it's like having all new clothing.
dForce clothing is faster and easier to make, which is why there's so damned much of it. Vendors who rely on it exclusively are lazy at best, in my humble O.
November 28, 2023 at 4:52 PM #2045518you can use, import obj as a morph target, keep in mind that if not an animation, vertex go straight from the current coordinate to new obj coordinate, so you maybe need some intermediate poses to reach the one you need, like sitting poses lying etc
everything from the simulation screen, non need to go on animation
then export as obj
and suggestion, use md10, 11 and 12 are dogs*it and there is no new functionality that is worth the suffering because of the 3x clicks due the new interface,
devs in games, software and website are damn sadistsNovember 28, 2023 at 4:55 PM #2045519oh i forgot yeah dforce sucks, to not mention dforce hairs, laggy viewport horrible look inn opengl and when you simulate they barely move...
