Hi , does anyone know why R'osity stopped giving pts for purchase's from none prime members ?
August 26, 2023 at 12:07 PM #2018384To push people on to Prime maybe.
August 26, 2023 at 12:10 PM #2018387If I remember right they stopped it 1 or 2 months ago, around their site remake.
(For the others: they still give reward points per the spent dollars but only for the Prime members)
August 26, 2023 at 3:57 PM #2018431They have recently (~2 months) changed the price of the prime membership, raising it from ~$30 to $55. Yep, almost X2!!
People were very upset and they tried to make the prime membership appear more appealing by reducing non-prime advantages.
But I am not sure that it is a good policy...August 28, 2023 at 11:59 AM #2019146WOW , talk about being cheap they are going to lose some business doing that , I think it's a big mistake.
August 30, 2023 at 2:58 AM #2019661Renderosity is desperate for sales, now since Bondware owns Poser. they probably paid too much for what it was actually worth (wouldn't be surprised since that's usually the case with Big Tech acquisitions in general) and are trying to recoup the losses.
and of course, like Big Tech companies, keep shooting themselves in the foot and destroying their userbase.
Poser is like a curse that keeps destroying companies every time they change owners
August 30, 2023 at 2:52 PM #2019808Guessing that Renderosity is getting desperate. Poser is still fading into oblivion, and the vast bulk of their income is (and has been for almost two decades now) from selling DAZ Studio assets, which has got to sting.
August 30, 2023 at 2:56 PM #2019810And don’t forget that long-time Renderosity vendors are popping up on other competitors (ironically they’re now DAZ PAs).
DAZ is soon to eat up another chunk of the market.
August 30, 2023 at 3:32 PM #2019817They always migrate between Daz & Rosity for who is giving the best deal at the moment.
Recently 'Hub has seen similar ebb & flow of vendors.August 30, 2023 at 4:18 PM #2019834*chuckle* I can't believe that diehards are still clinging to Poser, are they stupid?...delusional? I always laugh at the banner, "Poser Pulse! Feel it getting stronger!". They only have three(?) vendors making Poser stuff and it mostly looks like ancient Poser 4 items. There's the one guy who still hasn't learned how to tile textures. Hasn't anyone ever pointed that out to him?
August 30, 2023 at 5:34 PM #2019856Poser was once a beautiful tool, toy, and muse. They blew that up long ago when they made DAZ angry enough to build and then release DAZ Studio (I forgot why, something to do with license fees and Poser 5?)
Bet the people who did that way back then are surely regretting it now.
August 30, 2023 at 5:42 PM #2019860IIRC it was the refusal of the then current owners of Poser to natively support Genesis.
As you say, it wasn't a good move.

August 31, 2023 at 7:57 AM #2020074I find the premium prime option is worth it - even if I forgot about my discounts that I get.
