All the paid sites (yes, ALL of them) get their content from here. They are sleazy sites mostly run by that trashbag Phfuongdzu (or something). You don't get to see what they have until you pay to join up, then you'll see that it's everything that's posted here. Even the old standbies is Russia like foxster are now leeching off of us.

That is sort of what the points in the request section is meant to represent in an abstract manner. You acquire points by filling requests (i.e. by buying an item on the store) and posting them on the blog, and spread those acquired points across a dozen or more other requests, thereby significantly increasing the amount of content you acquire for your initial investment.

I believe that charging people for content would put Hunter in a legal bind.

EDIT: and there are private sharing sites out there where you have to provide new content to get new content. I'm pretty sure that this goes on here as well based on some IM's I've gotten from time to time. But you have to know about these private groups and then be invited.

I feel that you're missing the idea behind this place. Years ago most piracy occurred on usenet and it was done out of a sense of sharing AND there was no money exchanged. As the usenet became less popular, torrents took over and again, folks shared freely without looking for compensation. A few pay sites popped up and kept popping up since they never lasted long. They where full of infighting as cliques formed over who wanted this or that and people felt that the operators where skimming the pot (they where) and then they fell apart. As soon as you introduce money or make something premium, the culture of open and friendly sharing goes down the toilet and the place goes all to hell. I've belonged to no end of sharing sites for porn and have seen this scenario play out every single time. Someone always has an agenda, someone's always looking to make a buck, someone always feels that they've been screwed over...it never stops.

Many of us participated in KAT (KickAss Torrents) for years and it worked well until KAT was shut down.

The reason this place has not just survived but flourished is that there's none of the bullshit money or premium crap that has proven itself to be a site killer. We've had our share of problems but we have always solved them with reasoned conversation. All the pay sites harvest EVERYTHING they have from here. They're too cheap and greedy to invest money in their site, instead they come here. We suspect that there's a few people here who offer huge bonuses (points) for items then stick them on a pay site and don't post the item here. This is something we have yet to solve, but it's not a huge problem.

Hunter's use of the points system has been a brilliant idea that's made the place what it is.

If you want stuff RIGHT NOW, then just buy it.

Buy 2 sought after items and post them here. You'll have more than enough to download most of the site as well as points for requests. Enter a contest for more points. Generous members donate often.

I do think occasionally something may pop up on a pay site that isn't here but its RARE.
Watch the sites and you'll see it pop here first then on other sites a minute later. They farm this site like an MMORPG spawn.

ATM its the best Daz site for sharing even if it has some speed bumps.
