Since I think she's a pretty cute character, today I tried to make a morph for G8F using the trial version of Zwrap. It was a pretty quick try, and although I only had to do a little postwork, I have to say I'm quite happy with the result.

Today and in the next days I will continue to work on it, and if I am satisfied with the results, maybe I will convert other characters.
What do you think?
March 10, 2023 at 12:18 PM #1938872I think that is an excellent idea!
When you are happy with it, I think it might be worth your while posting it as custom content.
🙂
March 10, 2023 at 12:26 PM #1938882Great idea. A month or two ago, I decided to stop using Genesis 9 characters for my art and changed them to Genesis 8. Will be interested to see how this turns out.
March 10, 2023 at 1:04 PM #1938905Looks great! Time to convert the textures. There is a product that adds Genesis 8 UVs to Gen 9, although I'm not sure how well they would convert the other way around.
March 11, 2023 at 7:22 AM #1939241Curiosity sake I guess. Without the textures it'll look pretty bland. With the original textures and the HD morph from another G8 figure, it could look half decent, but have all the morphs and the native Gen 8 hair and clothing library. There's a give and take with everything I suppose. Choose your poison.
March 11, 2023 at 10:27 AM #1939408@eelgoo, @joelj, @recktat19, @chupacabre409, thanks for appreciating. I'll see what I can do. If so, I'd just create a morph, no textures or anything (apart the original ones), since I'm not interested in rendering. I don't know what it is and why I'm interested in 3D models, but this is it.
@joelj, you mean that you switched from G9 to G8, or that you also tried to convert G9 characters in G8?March 11, 2023 at 10:49 AM #1939432My take on it is that the G8.1F base is better rigged in the body & for my usage, the G9 textures offer nothing more for the bloat.
I am perfectly OK with morph only transfers. I would quite happily use one of the many decent G8F skins on them.
🙂
March 11, 2023 at 10:51 AM #1939433@zodiac - I basically made new characters for them. Didn't bother about trying to convert them from g9 to g8. Tried to select similar models and used those instead. Only I would notice, as most of my art I don't share anymore.

Working on V9 + Base Feminine Head morph with Zbrush. As you can see, the geometry matches almost perfectly.

Still V9 + Base Feminine Head morph. I just have to retouch some details, but in general the model is done. Now I just have to reverse the vertex selection and the body is done too.
But I think I will exclude the feet from the morph, which I think are even worse than G8.March 11, 2023 at 2:15 PM #1939528Definitive stylized V9 + Base Feminine Head morph.
Maybe someone wants to do some quick renders of V9 + Base Feminine Head morph for comparison?

March 13, 2023 at 3:54 PM #1940486There's no difference between the base mesh of G8 and G8.1. The main difference is the UVs and the facial rigging. Morphs like these shouldn't make much difference should you load it under base Genesis 8.1 instead of on 8.

Ah cool. I thought so, just wasn't sure. Thanks.
