Ever since getting membership, this kind of thing has been off and on my mind.

Is it paranoid to imagine floods of Zone traffic - turned and pointed back and forth to DAZ - being one of their major red flags? And what could be done about it anyway? Is there even a "best practices" kind of approach? Not going straight to DAZ from Zone? Do people do this, or not think about it at all?
I personally have never done anything about it, and shoot straight there from here under most all circumstances without thinking. Should one not? And can a Referer field hold more than the one, origin-hop? (Not savvy.) Besides web browser providers stepping up to provide more privacy support (supposedly, since March last year), is there a better way to scrub on the way to DAZ? Is there a point?
I know that the image linking rules are in place for such (or at least it seems that's the point), but is there a hole in the rest of the traffic? And is there even a constructive way or reason to address it if there is?
Trying to get into their heads, what might DAZ think about said traffic? Do they care? If they do, can they do anything? (More than what they already do, I suppose.) I know the tracking doesn't go beyond just the Referer info, necessarily (so nothing like tracking individuals beyond a presented IP on arrival, so VPN has coverage there), but is there anything else that screams "ZONEGFX" when we go there from here? And is there a reason to act differently?

(Specify DAZ in this post, but refers to all similar traffic to other potentially flagging sites. Rendo, Roti, MEGA, Google Drive, etc.)

Interested in everyone's thoughts. (In lay-terms if/as possible, thx.)

EDIT: Hypothetical scenario: You hop from Zone to DAZ. You query a vendor via DM about something. Is there a way/chance that your user ID, there, is associated with hopping from Zone on the post/visit? How's it all work?

This is no time to get milk in your veins LOL. The referring page is just the URL of the previous web page from which a link was followed. Personally I never open links directly from here by clicking them.... always copy and paste them into a new URL bar. I don't even use a VPN because I'm outside the US and if they can't even get their dirty hands on Kim Dotcom, the biggest pirate of all time, they're not going to worry about little 'ol me.

See, this is something thought of, but never personally practiced. "If the link is provided on this item at Zone, it must be safe and acceptable to click on it." So that marks a shift in behavior from the norm for sure. My norm, anyway, all carefree and ish. Should the direct links section of Posts be disabled, for example? That'd be kinda huge.
And is there a concrete reason?

Just sensible precautions... like clearing your browser before/after going to the Daz site to/from here.... running scans on files etc. I strongly recommend the Brave Browser.

I'm worried less about my own safety, really (no milk-veins here), and more about the health and sustainability of Zone. If my account(s) are trashed, they can be re-established much easier than the site not coming back. And worried isn't quite the descriptor, more concerned, I guess.
Maybe there's no reason to be. Maybe the place is set up for the traffic no matter the transparency, and the mods are ready for the subsequent attention from targeters - no matter the degree. The "what're they gonna do" argument appears here, often. Hard to say if that's stoicism, or hubris. But this site has been around for... (how long now?) regardless. A testament to the moderators, anyone would have to say. I'm sure there've been some serious and debilitating moments trying to dodge the angry masses. I've only recently been around to witness things like the 3DUK super-slam, and the subsequent (coincidental?) site-wide slowdowns and incapacitations. But it makes one think. ...Think things like, "What could users be doing to tamp the blatant and potentially provoking traffic". But the life of pirates is hardly a mousy one. And maybe it doesn't matter in the end anyway. If site runners (captains) are on it, and have been, and haven't created any further rules or protocols regarding direct linking and such, and aren't starting now, one has to presume it's all good, maybe. (Or maybe they're that good at running protection and keeping the site up.)(Appreciated, regardless.)

In the meantime, I guess it would be silly to not adopt some better practices like those mentioned here, at the user level. For self and for site. Knowledge is 9/10ths of responsibility.

When I think about it....I have been pirating for a considered time, got all the software of the big houses, like adobe, macromedia, etc, and keep up to date with the latest releases. So over the years I must have downed giga or even terra bites of software. Never was I approached so to say.
We should not loose site of the scale of the net, and the amount of people using it. If you google for say Genesis 9, you get a dozen of sites that have them same items on display as we see here. No registration or so.
Although I agree to the mindset"better safe then sorry"I think we should not make to a big a thing of it.

@littlepleasures This makes sense. A pursuit problem, not so much an observation problem. (Or a disregard or inability even for observation, or any of it, due to lack of resources. And the high costs and lengths of litigation.) So worst case might seem to be account banning/closing on a per user basis, since it's actually something possible. Less "the whole of the world" coming down on Zone.
    Less to concern about.
    Thanks for the clarification.
