    PREMATURELY FILLED REQUESTS!

Lately I have noticed a rash of Requests posted before noon-time in Europe (6am East Coast US-Time), and by the time I get to ZoneGFX those requests have been FILLED by some people named ANONYMOUS.. which is like a slap in the face to those of us who are not on ZoneGFX 24/7 and in other time zones.

This has happened several times, and for those who are NOT lucky to be a Moderator like me, this is frustrating as you get the feeling like you won't be able to find out who filled it, and either hope that someone will post it to the BLOG (an in the case of "Anonymous" fillers, they will not post to the Blog, so don't hold your breath.

This isn't how ZoneGFX was to work.

I would request from people posting Requests that they do not contact me to CLOSE these posts until at least a full day has gone by since the product was released in their respective stores so those of us in different timezones can react and offer points.

Everytime a Request is prematurely filled by an Anonymous poster- I will duplicate that post and re-open it under my own name and leave it open so everyone else who missed it can offer points and get the item(s).

    Cheers,

It would be good to get them re-posted, as there is never a reply when trying to find out who the poster was, or for a link to be sent.

something is telling me that this could be someone trying to stop files from getting to these sites. it just feels that way knowing that it's always an "anon" and is "filled" extremely quickly. like so quick that it's like the "anon" doesn't really have the files, but is wanting to catch those that are "illegally sharing" DAZ content. like if it was a sting operation

We've had this happen in the past, that is why I am wary of such activities. I try my best to protect everyone here as best I can in my Role as Moderator for Requests & Forums.

In the cases of two postings, I found out why they were so early. Had to do with timezones. But we had some bad experiences with someone literally giving us EVERY SINGLE Daz release the same moment they were released at Daz3D. It went on for about 2 months, every day we got the entire contents of the Newsletter products handed to us. Parallel someone from a site that leeched from us for $$$ infected files and posted them into the blog or filled requests, and we had to go in and search for files that literally went into the DUF files and changed the product's behavior or put images with adverts to the competitor's site inside the products shared.

This is asinine and stupid. And Pointless.

    But we must be careful.

I can understand why someone wishes to remain anonymous so early in the distribution cycle. If they were the first to buy the item and then share it that fast, they could eventually be singled out. I'm appreciative of the quick sharing of items we all want, that is why we offer sums of points over 25 points which one gets when an item is in the BLOG.

I'll stay on top of this.

    Cheers,
    AnjaBear

    Two:

    1) Glad I'm not a mod.

    2) Thank you to all the mods for their tireless efforts.

I appreciate you watching out for this, @AnjaBear.

I usually ask the anonymous sharers 1) if they want to keep the thread open for further monitoring+filling, 2) if I can tell members via PM their identity, and 3) if I can share their link or re-host it.

When I've shared anonymously, it's exactly like you said -- I was sharing very soon after a release or the release came from a small vendor. In either case, I worry that I could easily be identified.
