What do DAZ users think about it? As for the moment, AIs are not great with generating realistic human faces, but neither is DAZ lol!
Genesis9 is great, but still it takes so much time and effort to get a result of higher quality...meanwhile AI can do similar, probably better in minutes.

Are you going to incorporate AI into your workflow with DAZ?

That's a very big can of worms you're opening. I'll just go fishing... [ducks for cover} I'll be back later.

I think there is a place for AI generated work. I am definitely not a fan of the whole "borrowing" looks from creators who don't want their content used that's for sure. My other issue with it is when people at least don't mention that anything was made with AI. I tend to like to comment on things and applaud artwork that I enjoy, but if it's AI, my response would be a little different. Not that I still wouldn't give it credit or praise the work, but I would have follow up questions as to where it stemmed from and how they come up with that particular image (what AI system did they use, possibly what keywords, did they use a specific checkpoint etc.). Does that make sense? I am fascinated by it.

As far as putting it in my work, I have actually used it a few times for backgrounds in a few of my renders. I like mixing the two when I think it will work in my favor, but I usually acknowledge that "background made with AI" and the rest is done with DAZ and photo editing software.

I love it! In a weekend I can create a children's picture book using AI- which I have done. I just checked my archive, and on one day last month I created a little over 400 images - and that's individual images, not the 4x ones. One day. How long would it take me to create 400 images in Daz?

I use Midjourney. Sure, many times my horses will have 5 or 6 or 3 legs, but overall, it's fast, so hit 'try again'. Daz still has a place in my life, it's just pushed to the back burner for the moment. For what I want to do right now, I desire a more watercolor style, and Midjourney can give me that. I pay 10 bucks a month for it.

I have found that, as with Daz, sometimes the eyes are messed up, and don't get me started on the hands, lol. Here's some things I've done...

I think there is a place for it, as it can provoke & inspire others to create.

Provided it is not claimed to be original by someone other than those who programmed & developed the software, that is OK.

I still haven't used my invite to Dal-E yet, don't have an issue its the next evolution, some day people will get kudos for going old school and creating art with tools used by long lost civilisations like photoshop. The only part dangerous is when deep fakes are used for nefarious intentions.

I think there is this whole anti AI thing in the artist community, it happens every time something new comes along it is always met with disdain, I think it should be looked at as a white board for your ideas instead of gnashing of teeth, most of this comes from reading negative publicity behind it instead of actually taking time to learn it, most people think its input create beautiful whatever an Ai does the rest.

Well except its not that simple, you have to know how to craft a prompt you have to know what statements in that prompt have an effect on the AI and which ones don't you have to do lots of trial and error and experimenting.
You have to understand its limitations, if you want to create your own thing with no influences such as an artist then you need to know how to craft your prompt that way.

lets say for example you want a portrait and you want to use a certain camera lens in your prompt you have to give it more than just 50mm lens you have to give it a lens type, like canon rf 50mm f1.8 l is usm lens, then on top of that you cant just leave it out there like that without adding a camera or the AI has no idea what to do with that

You need to craft something like this into your prompt: Photography, shot with a [Canon EOS R6] [Canon RF 50mm F1.8 L IS USM Lens], ISO 400 f 2.2 1/160s Aperture Priority then the AI understands what to do with that, you can add a rendering engine into your AI then you have to know which one does photorealistic rendering that would be maxwell render engine,
You can set lightning parameters but you have to understand what those are. does the AI know what ambient occlusion is? it does but unless you know that you would have no idea how to add it in there.

Ai doesn't understand human anatomy at all it knows it but has no idea about proportion most AI prompt crafters struggle to get the AI to make hands that look human most of the time they end up with 7 fingers on one hand and they are very crazy looking, there is a way to do it but you have to know how, there is so much that goes into it but some as a few above shun it instead of embracing it.
here are some images I created using MidJourney

Children's doodles are worth much more than any masterpiece.

Some interesting responses. Thank you all.

I myself am just somewhat angry at AI, because i spent years learning and mastering 3D software, and now all my 3D skills are worth less, and probably end up being useless 🙁
Will have to adopt and learn AI skills now i guess...

A lot of artists will disappear, concept artists being among the first, for instance. a lot of tools and software will just vanish too.
there will be only AI-artist in the not too far future, as some AIs are being developed that can create not just 2D images but 3D models

That's a strange view of AI Hodor. I don't think AI will replace what came before it, just adds another way of doing things. Though I still have doubts about people claiming ownership of an image when all they did way type in a few key words and hit a button. In that case @Abad's point about children's art would seem to be true, having much more artistic & emotional input than AI.
