I mean that's the first celeb morph in a very long time that is so close it's scary. She does need a smaller bust-line, though.

It's a shinteo model so it was ripped from a game, he says it was taken from one of the Aliens. Either way, I love her. Weaver was my idol growing up and I've got lots of ideas. After all, we've got plenty of Xenomorphs to fight off 🙂
I totally get it - she haunted more than a few of my adolescent dreams back in the 80's as well.
Rank:She was the embodiment of female empowerment. Not in the ridiculous way Hollywood tries to turn all women into superheroes like they're doing nowdays. As a woman I cringe so hard every time a 1.60m 45 kilo woman throws a punch at a giant man and sends him flying 🙂

IMHO the second film, Aliens (1986), was the best of the bunch, although the original one was good too. Opinions?

Slightly off but still in the SC-FI league-----Blade Runner is up there in my top 3 movies greats of the 80's. Damn we had some great movies in the 80's 🙂Rank:I don't know. I can't decide which is best. It's really like two different movies but I think they are both equally good. Perhaps the first one has the edge though. It was way scarier and I got more attached to the crew. I do love all the franchise, I even love the Alien vs Predator ones 🙂
Must say that Aliens 2 and Terminator 2 surpassed the originals BUT, they were the originals and something has to be said for that. The Thing is still amazing.
They didnt need CGI. The original Star Wars beats the new trash any day of the week. Heck, Id take Battle Beyond the Stars over MaRey Notawalker Sue.
Bladerunner (original) still IMHO is one of if not the Best Sci-Fi movie ever.
HAL has to be one of the best "villains" put on film.
For me, nothing surpasses the sheer menace of the first Terminator movie.
He just kept on going, like he was unstoppable.
I never got that from the sequels.Had Billy Idol played the Terminator in the second one, I think that would have raised it a lot.

Rank:@Ethiopia every single thing you said is taken straight out of my head! I didn't see 2001 in theaters but it's still my favorite movie of all times and I too dreamed that we'd be able to travel in space by now. At least we've got Musk now so not all hope is lost 😉
And the Ringworld universe is my number one series of books I'd like to see on the big screen or on TV but seeing what they did with Foundation, maybe I'll pass on the frustration 🙂Rank:I'm with eelgoo regarding Terminator. But for sheer killer bot voyeurism i thought Terminator Salvation with it's dystopian feel was another winner.
As for Billy Idol. He was offered a few movie roles but always seem to have a bike accident LOL. The guy's a legend.

I must pre-date a lot of those here but I remember the first sci-fi/alien stuff I watched was A For Andromeda back in the early 60s, followed by the original Dr Who around the same time. I must have been about 6 or 7 back then.
Nearly all of the A For Andromeda tapes have been lost or destroyed by the BBC ): Very cheap production values compared to today but a great theme similar to Contact (1997) where instructions were sent to earth by aliens, to build a being rather than a machine. Ironically Andromeda dies at the end because although she was brilliant she never learned how to swim.
The Quatermass Experiment (1953) was also a good TV series but was never broadcast in my country. I have the series on DVD and it's well worth a look if you're into the early sci-fi era.
Perhaps the thing I like most about those early British series was that there were no love-interest side-stories or obligatory tall, irresistibly handsome/beautiful, proud and melancholy so-called characters that infect today's pathetic cinematic offerings.Yeh @Ethiopia it's smeg'n funny.
Rank:I remember watching both. The BBC did have a habit of throwing lots of archives in the trash but have stopped since. Too late for many though 🙁
The original run of Red Dwarf was hilarious and i did watch a little of the new series but gave it a thumbs down. It's the same when they tried to revive the Fast Show, funny in it's day but not funny any longer. Fond memories of both but they should be left alone on the history shelf IMO. Sorry to be a bore :/
