I would like to send a PM to a member
Just to ask a question ( kinda techtalk)
IS there a way to come in contact with someone, and how do I go about it?
    Thanx Gaver

Just go onto your profile page and click the box entitled Messages, then click Compose. Make sure to use the proper username of the user you are messaging when you do, because some people find it confusing as there are two. It's not the name that appears in the forum posts that you use, but rather the one that begins with @. It's to be found on the profile page of the user you want to message.

For example, the username that is displayed when I post is ''Charley'' but if you wanted to message or tag me you would have to use @reinecarola.

    I must be getting old/older.
If I want to PM someone about a product posted, clicking on their name on the post and opening from there only shows all the stuff they have uploaded.
So how do I get from the screen name to their profile page so I can get their membership name, the @ one?

Go to a product they posted. At the top of the page is the name of the member who posted it. Don't click on the name, just hover over it and check the status bar at the bottom of the browser (or right-click>copy link). The last part of the link contains what you should use to send a DM.

e.g. for one of your product posts you'll see the link ends in /frank22/. So, to send a DM you'd use @frank22.

Ok, but how does that work by just adding a @ prefix to the display name when a lot of people have membership names that are nothing like their display name.
eg. Grouchy Old Fart's membership name is @Pooper.

Here's a quick and dirty trick I use:
when you click the name on a product and get their catalog, like

...just replace "author" with "members" and you'll get right to their profile page!

    I can relate to that.

Most artistic types aren't like that.

    It drives my OCD nuts!!

    LOL!

Sorry GOF @Pooper for using your name as an example LOL. I thought you would get a notification and pop in to see what's going on. Oops I did it again.
