Hi, I work in Daz Studio and recently upgraded my graphics card to an RTX 3080ti. Thing is, it appears to have made zero difference to my render speeds when compared to my last card - a GTX 1060.
The new card is working and listed in Daz's, 'advanced render settings', but when I uncheck the CPU checkbox, and leave the RTX checked, the model does not render at all, it turns translucant like it's trying to work, then goes no further. I've tried it on very small props to Gen8 figures - same result every time. It's like it doesn't want to use the new card?
Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere or possibly a problem with the rest of my system? Any help would be massively appreciated...
My system is:
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Eight-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
24GB Ram
PSU 850WMarch 28, 2022 at 5:22 PM #1789562Try uninstalling and re-installing the graphics card drivers. Also, make sure you download them directly from Nvidia. Other sites have recently shown having malware.
March 28, 2022 at 8:24 PM #1789620Will do!
March 28, 2022 at 8:28 PM #1789622Congrats on the new card!
When you reinstall the drivers, make sure to choose "Custom" and then check the box for "Clean Installation." This deletes everything before reinstalling. It's the best method (besides DDU) when upgrading to a new card.
March 28, 2022 at 8:35 PM #1789624Tried, but sadly the same result. I'm using a portable version of Daz - do you think this will make a difference?
March 28, 2022 at 9:18 PM #1789642Make sure you are using the latest DS version 4.20. It is also recommended to install NV Studio drivers, not Game ready.
March 28, 2022 at 10:10 PM #1789660I've had problems with the "portable" version of certain programs. Try installing the normal version.

If you're talking about Nvidia drivers, that option only resets driver settings and clears your profiles. It's not a full "delete".
As others have mentioned, clear out your (old) drivers with DDU, then update to the newest ones. They should be "GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL 512.15 March 22, 2022", they just came out a few days ago.
"Studio" drivers haven't been updated in a while, "NVIDIA Studio Driver WHQL 472.84 December 13, 2021"March 29, 2022 at 7:26 AM #1789761I'm the only one who mentioned DDU lol. It's probably the "portable" Daz version that's causing the issue anyway.

Not sure where you are getting that from. It's telling me:
NVIDIA STUDIO DRIVER - WHQL
Driver Version: 512.15 - Release Date: Tue Mar 22, 2022Both on the site and via GeForce experience.
March 29, 2022 at 10:56 AM #1789819Thank you! I've tried DDU but still no luck. I'll try a different version of Daz now... Are there any versions that don't require logging in to use them? This is why I went portable 🙂
March 29, 2022 at 10:58 AM #1789820You are correcto! Thank you!
March 29, 2022 at 12:45 PM #1789867That sorted it. I found a way to install Daz 4.2 without going through 'Daz Connect' and now everything is good. Many thanks for your help everyone!
March 29, 2022 at 12:51 PM #1789870Here is the link to Daz Studio 4.2 Pro (free from Daz) which fixed my problem: https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-4-pro
The option to download and install without 'Daz Connect' is available once it's been added to your cart.

Ah, I was looking @ standard drivers (those stopped being updated last year), DCH are being updated. Honestly I've never used studio drivers (for any of my 3d rendering/modeling programs) so I didn't even know there where variations of that driver set.
